Bailey is full of tools. He's big. He's a righty shot. He skates well. He has solid offensive skills. He just has to put it all together and put some meat on his bones. His hockey sense may also be in question.

Your correct,I was thinking of Connor Hurley born Sept 15/95
I was looking at guys a year younger than others that are doing well already whereas guys like Mantha ,Rychel & Hartman are 1 full year older

Not far off. Couturier was a bit more advanced at the same age, but he played in the QMJHL at 16. Gauthier will probably be a better skater, a bit bigger and more physical. Couturier at this point(same age) is ahead offensively.

Not quite... Connor Hurley is the youngest player in this draft, since he was born on the last eligible day, Sept. 15th 1995 (edit; already mentioned).

Speaking of Hurley, he might be an interesting option but, like all high school player, he's a risk playing against such weak competition.

This Petan guy has been intriguing to me ever since I watched the TPG. He looks like a gamer and is real talented.

Many teams might regret passing over him in a few years.

And Couturier was a late Birthday. But they are in a different category offensively IMO, as far as their draft year goes.

Couturier is in different category offensively. If not two categories above offensively. Couturier 1.67 PPG compared to Gauthier's 0.97 PPG as 18 year olds. Defensively both are NHL ready at 18. Couturier has big edge with +/-, Gauthier has the edge faceoffs. Gauthier may win Guy Carbonneau Trophy this year, Couturier did not. Both played on good clubs. With Couturier struggling to score this year I fear Gauthier doesn't have offense to stay in NHL. If he does you'll looking at big, bottom line center, defensive specialist.

Couturier had 1.41 PPG as 17 year old. The year before his draft year. The late birthday thing isn't a factor

Size is Petan's achilles heel. Offense and size reminds me of Briere or Giroux in their draft year. He may be better as his +/- is off the chart. Some team will get a steal in late first or early second round.

I think part of that is Gauthier is making the jump up this year from MAAA. Couturier his draft year was his 3rd year in the QMJHL. He was an early bloomer, playing MAAA at 14. Gauthier is a bit more of a late bloomer. Pacioretty was a late bloomer and he worked out fine. I think Couturier's offense sort of plateaued at 17.

You're reading too much into stats.

Gauthier is still developping and has another couple notches to go. His numbers are not as flashy 1-because he is a rookie in the QMJHL so there is an adjustment to the extra travel, bigger/older players plus length of schedule. 2-Couturier was #1 center on his team at 17 and 18. Gauthier has Lavoie in front of him playing with Trainor. That has an effect on his numbers.

I see him as a guy with 50% chance of being a #2 NHL center, 25% chance of being a #1 and 25% of being a #3. The odds of him being bust are very low because he plays a mature 2 way game and already uses his size unlike a lot of junior players who play one way and relay only on their hands and vision.

MacKinnon to return tonight against CB. I expect a 2-3 point game.

Drouin came back with 3 points against Btahurst Monday.

I don't think anyone is arguing whether he will be a useful player or not. It's whether he can be a solid top 6 player because that's what you look for in the 1st round.

I'm hoping for a 5pt game, because screw the capers...that's why! GO MOOSE GO!

The odds of him being a top 6 NHL forward are high IMHO.

Pretty much what I'm worried about in his case. The more I read about him, the more I think about Michal Handzus, which ain't bad, but not what I would with a 1st round pick, considering our needs.

Much better skater and more offensive upside.
