$8 million a year for Levitre. Damn that's a lot of money.

Don't think so. Pretty sure this only frees up 500k in cap space.

Anyway, needed to be done I suppose. I liked Fitz, more as a person/leader than a QB, but I didn't hate him in that regard nearly as much as most. But if he wasn't going to restructure, that contract couldn't stay on the books for the future. He'll get a backup job somewhere warmer than Buffalo and make a couple million a year. Good for him.

On the bright side, with T Jax as our current #1, there is quite literally nowhere to go but up

Schefter also says Tennessee working on a contract with Delanie Walker, so there's one more target that looks off the market.

Former Bills G Andy Levitre has reached agreement in principle with the Titans on 5-year, $39 million deal.

Nearly 8M a year...definitely rich for a guard.

They used the post-june 1st designation for the release and there will only be a $3M hit this year and $7M next year for Fitz.

And what the hell would this accomplish?

Maybe Rob Johnson or Todd collins could come back from the dead.

Yup I would think so. Tebow sucks. Glad to hear Fitz is gone, time to start over. Just don't feel obligated to draft a QB in the 1st round

You know how much revenue it would drive into Buffalo? Plus i think hes a good quarterback. Im obviously one of the only people. Give him a chance and i think this kid makes the best of it. I mean he was allowed 8 pass attempts last season and completed 6 of them. whats the worst thing that happens? Buffalo ends up with the first pick in 2014?

Stop, just stop it. He's the worst quarterback I've ever seen playing in the NFL. If you can't see that, then you have some problems.

The worst quarterback in the league doesnt lead his team to the playoffs. Not to mention he won the Heisman.

Kid gets a bad wrap because the New York Jets organization is a complete gong show.

Wouldn't mind signing Tebow as a TE or FB, but not QB. I have no idea why no one hasn't tried this yet, he may not be a great QB, but he is an incredible athlete.

This is a polarizing issue. Fitzpatrick was a polarizing topic. There are people like me who didn't mind the guy. Was he great? No. But he was watchable unlike everyone since Flutie. Did he have his faults? Yes. But there are many that just bashed on the guy to bash on him, he was an EASY SCAPEGOAT for a team that had so many other issues.
Fitzpatrick was the worst starting QB the Bills ever had, and whoever signed him to that asinine contract should be let go just for that.
Thanks goodness the pain of watching him try to throw downfield is over!

Why? He has never played either of those positions. I'd rather just sign somebody who's actually good at playing TE/FB.

Because athleticism = athleticism, making the jump to a different position is really not that difficult, especially for someone with his measurables and will to succeed.

Cutting Fitzpatrick opens lots of flexibility with cap space next year. I am loving the decisiveness of the Marrone regime to stir things up.

What exactly is athleticism?

He's not fast, nor is he extremely tall. Who has any idea if he can catch. He's not big enough to be a blocking on the line TE either.

You know what's more important than "athleticism"? Being good at blocking, running routes, and catching. We have no idea how good he is at any of that.
