Cutting Fitz opens cap space this year, not next. 3M still on the books now and 7M next year.

I'd be OK with bringing Tebow in. After all, it's an open competition
Seriously though, he can't be worse than Jackson, or other Heisman winner Young.

Personally, I think this means they have a guy in the draft they think is the real deal.

Levitre knew he would get that kind of money. No way Bills could afford it. I'm fine with this.

Hello compensatory!!!!

He didnt lead them to the playoffs, Prater's golden leg did. He is possibly the worst active quarterback in the nfl unless jamarcus comes back but even jamarcus could throw. Do what the other 32 NFL teams are doing and just walk away from this wreck.

Just keep in mind, Superbowls on won on the draft floor and not on Free Agency.

No QB I like in this draft and none in FA. Are they going to start Jackson and just lump it to find one next year? I am confused, anyone have insight here? What the hell is the plan?

Edit - wasn't a Fitzy fan. Just don't know where they go from here at that position unless there's a rookie they really like.

His coverage skills are fading.

Bills save actual money cutting Fitz but not Salary Cap money....also announce they are picking a QB in the first 2 rounds without doubt.

Tebow has to want to try that, and pretty much every account he wants to be a QB in this league. He's not going to sign if he's not going to be able to play QB.

There are a TON of decent UFAs this year. Plenty of LBs, DBs and WRs left on market. I'm almost relieved they aren't over-spending right out of the gate.

Yes, yes it is. Yet another drafted Bill that we get to watch have a productive career elsewhere. Everyone talks about how bad the drafting is, but drafting means jack squat when you keep players like McKelvin and lose players like Levitre.

Glad that Fitz is gone. Hopefully it means we're drafting a young QB to develop.

Yes, if only they had invested 8m into a left guard, the single least valued position on the football field...

Fullback?

Levitre is over-rated.... I'm telling people... he isn't bad but is hardly elite.

Levitre=Wes Welker. Product of the system. That line isnt that great, Gailey's playcalling of getting rid of the ball quick helped decieve a lot of holes.

Oh he could be, he can hardly throw. The Denver season was inexplicable. He would look like **** for 55 minutes, the D would keep them in the game and theyd get some fairy tale jesus like break.

Not even the least valued position on the OL, let alone an entire football team.

And it's not just about Levitre. The Bills have been losing the talent that they actually manage to develop for over a decade now.

I don't get the hype on Tebow. Why would it drive so much revenue into the region especially if the team wasnt winning? I think hes a good guy eventhough I don't per se agree with his personal views for myself. But I don't get the drool effect. He's not a star by any means given his "playing ability"

Came down to a choice. Byrd or Levitre. Don't know about you but right now i would say Byrd would be TOUGH to replace

The problem with that statement is the "developing talent" part. They haven't had much talent to begin with.

Starting with the 2010 draft, the best players picked are:
2010: Spiller, Carrington, Troup
2009: Wood, Byrd, Levitre, Maybin
2008: S.Johnson, McKelvin, Bell
2007: Lynch, Poz, Edwards, Wendling
2006: K.Williams, Whitner, Butler
2005: Parrish
2004: Evans, Losman
2003: McGahee, McGee, Kelsay, Crowell, Haggan, Aiken
2002: J.Reed, Wire, Bannan, Denney

Looking at that, how many quality players did they actually let go (without getting something in return via trade)? Levitre, Whitner, Poz, arguably Bell. The reason the Bills suck is because they make way more picks like James Hardy and Mike Williams (especially in higher rounds) than impact players.
