Good god, can IAOFM get through a post without denigrating everyone else and patting themselves on the back?

Especially since one issue they were wrong about springs to mind.

No, they can't. They also can't go without injecting their opinion on everything, even religion and politics. But they also offer high quality commentary when they actually talk football, so I tolerate it.

That's like saying the Flat earth Society offers high quality analysis of geography.

Meh, I find their analysis is often insightful and a good source of information on the Broncos and the NFL. They do a nice job with their daily curation of NFL and Broncos content and linking to information and analysis from other writers. Yeah they do come across as pompous, which can be annoying, but they do a nice job of providing and curating information I can't easily find anywhere else.

I still can't take Klis seriously after his run as the mouthpiece for the McDaniels regime and he was no doubt doing so under orders from the Post.

That bunch willingly shot it out on with the ATF on the Branch Joshian compound and still haven't seen the light on what has long been an obvious truth. You'd have thunk that would have beat some much needed humility into them.

Hoping this Bush rumor isn't true, pretty much for the reasons described in the article.

DJ Williams and Caleb Hanie gone.

Good riddance!!! They probably told those guys forever ago. Interested to see what happens with Doom

Yeah I agree but I think Doom and Mays may be still in negotiations. Who knows.

Beanie Wells was cut today - I think he'd be an interesting candidate to thrown into our RB pool.

Dumervil rejects salary cut and asks to be released earlier so he can capitalize on the beginning of free agency.

Quote:
They got no closer to a resolution. Dumervil has rejected the Broncos' proposed cut from the $12 million salary he is scheduled to make in 2013. That salary would become guaranteed if he is on the Broncos' roster by Saturday.
Magid submitted a counterproposal, but it was more about a restructure than pay reduction. Given the considerable difference in opinion on Dumervil's value, the pass-rushing defensive end is asking the team to release him before the free-agent market opens at 2 p.m. Tuesday, rather than wait until the Saturday deadline with his contract.

"We're at an impasse," Magid said Tuesday afternoon. "There's no animosity, whatsoever. Elvis understands this is a business. He loves the Broncos and he'd still like to come back and play for the Broncos under his current contract or restructure proposal that we sent them.

"But if we can't reach common ground and you know as an organization that you're going to release him, then we'd like for them to release him by (2) p.m. tomorrow and not wait another four days. No hard feelings. We just disagree on their restructure option."

Tomorrow's going to be a huge day for the Broncos. What do we have 30 million in cap space (assuming doom is gone)?

I was just going to mention this. He has talent, but is hurt all of the time.

I believe Mendenhall is available also, isn't he?

Yeah, they'll need someone, else they risk losing a chunk of Von Miller's effectiveness.

I'm pretty sure they're banking on having a replacement available or making Wolfe the full time RE and getting a more versatile LE.

Freeney is the obvious choice, but there's a decent crop of DEs in free agency.

Avril, Bennet or Hayes would also be nice but the first two will probably command as much and more as Doom.

And I swear to God Moneyball is the Atlas Shrugged of sports!

Sounds like the Broncos are playing this smart – they are going after guys (including a DE) and if they snag enough, they will get let of Doom. If they can’t get anyone, they will keep him. Pretty smart move actually. Not so great news for Doom.

Everything I hear is that they will get Freeney though. If that happens, Doom is gone pretty quick.

I forget what date you have to be under the cap, but it's months away. Broncos will probably negotiate deals over the cap then figure out the Dumervil situation.

Broncos sign G Louis Vasquez out of SD. First priority of the Broncos is apparently Peyton Protection. Works for me, especially if it means more of this:

Love the Vasquez signing. The OL should be set now and they can concentrate on the defense and skill positions.

Yeah I like it as well. Guard needed to be addressed.

Interesting that Kruger ended up signing for 40M over 5 years. Him and Avril would seem to be setting the high end of the free agent DE market.

Doesn't sound like much of one if any based on Klis' story:

Quote:
Magid sent back a proposal Tuesday that lowered his client's asking price from $12 million in 2013, but then added that reduction onto his contract in the form of guarantees for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci...lks-but-remain

Given what Kruger just went for they must be getting very nervous. Dumervil has to take a serious pay cut, not just a restructure.

So we're supposed to get Mendenhall signed and apparently we are talking to both Welker and Jennings.
