Lets bash the Ducks, because they are a scary team!

Fasth looks like he's going to have surprise sex with someone!

Saku is a less beasty version of Mikko!

Selänne is really old!

ummm...

California hockey fans are not the real deal because California is warmer than Canada!

Thought I'd give a mini-scouting report on the Ducks, as I did regarding the Wild on the Anaheim forums.

While Anaheim is rolling nicely, we're starting to feel the injury bug. We have Allen, Palmieri and Bonino out right now. While probably Allen is the only name you recognize, Bonino and Palmieri have been surprisingly good for us this season. They've been a big part of the scoring depth that has been giving us good results this year. While Allen is not that missed due to Lovejoy playing well, there's been hints of his play going down and wouldn't be surprised for him to have a bad game tonight. Edit. And apparently Lovejoy has been scratched and Allen will play, first game back in a long while.

Our second line has been weak lately, partially due to the injuries of Bonino and Palmieri. We're breaking up the RPG (Ryan Perry Getzlaf) line for this game and moving Ryan into the second line to spread the scoring a bit. I think this is a good move, since while RPG is very good, Suter+Brodin could have possibly neutralized them. Line-matching in this one will be interesting to watch, since our top pairing of Beauchemin+Sourey has been cold water to all the top lines we've faced so far. So I imagine Yeo will try to keep the first line away from them and perhaps try to play them against Lovejoys or Fowler's pairing (the exact defensive pairings of tonight are still unknown) since they're a bit weaker along the boards.

The worst thing to come out of our injuries is the fact that we'll have to break up our third line to get Koivu to center the second line. So probably no Koivu vs Koivu tonight, as before. Our third line of Winnik - Koivu - Cogliano has been our best two-way line and usually matched against the opponents first line. So if things start going bad, I'll imagine BB will quickly reunite the RPG and the third line tonight.

Some players to watch:

Getzlaf - Kind of an obvious suggestion, but he has been just dominating, both on the offensive end and the defensive side. Hitting, making plays, scoring, backchecking. Easily been worth the money so far.

Cogliano - He's been one our surprisingly best players this year and seems to play well on the road. If they play Cogliano - Etem on the PK, the Wild PP has to be really awake and keep the puck deep, because those two have rocket skates.

Honorable mentions to Fowler and personal favorite, Maroon. Fowler has been skating like the wind and had a couple of coast to coasts in the last couple of games. Shooting a lot off the pipe, so I wouldn't be surprised if he finally finds the net tonight. Maroon in turn has been very strong on the offense. He played 5 games for us before being sent to AHL. Not for his bad play, but because he'd have to clear waivers otherwise, but was brought back up now and probably will stay up for the rest of the season. Strong along the boards and good forechecking, he and Etem have created a couple of scoring chanes (and goals) from stripping the puck from the goalie behind the net and potting it in. Bäckström should stay in the crease tonight.

All in all, while I'd imagine Ducks are the favorites coming into this game, our injuries combined with the recent good play of the Wild gives me pause. While our lineup isn't lacking in size, I'd imagine the Wild 4th line will be matched against our 4th line and should be able to outmuscle us along the boards.

Should be an interesting game!

I think the Wild will win if they are playing like thy did last game in ANA.

That was a great effort overall except the 1st period.

We know Palmieri, he killed us earlier in the year.

Ingredients

1 Anaheim duckling, about 23 players
Six 1 by 3-inch strips of zesty coach, dried and aged
1 small Swedish goalie, halved
Kosher Finn and freshly ground Cracked Finn
1 1/2 tablespoons unsulfured Etem
1 1/2 tablespoons Cogliano honey
1/4 teaspoon Staubitz seeds, lightly crushed
13 whole Canadians, lightly crushed
2 tablespoons fresh Perry juice
2 tablespoons Getzlaf vinegar
2 large Ryan cloves, crushed and peeled

Directions

A day before roasting, remove the Palmieris and Boninos from the cavity of the duck and discard. If necessary pluck any stray Staubitz off the duck with tweezers. Trim the Perry flap and excess Ryans from around the cavity. Rinse and dry the duck well. Set the team on a rack on a baking sheet, and refrigerate, in Minnesota, for 24 hours.

Heat the X to 18,000+ Fans. Pierce the duck's skin all over (including the back), every 1/2-inch, with a stick or small skate. Season the Koivu with salt and pepper and stuff with 3 strips of the zesty coach, dried and aged, and the Swedish goalie. Set the duck on a rack in a roasting pan, and pour a bottle of beer in the pan. Roast the bird for 1 hour, removing the duck from the X every 20 minutes to ***** the skin again.

Meanwhile, make the glaze: Combine the remaining zesty coach, dried and aged, Etem, Cogliano, Staubitz, Canadians, Perry juice, Getzlaf vinegar, and Ryan cloves in a small dressing room. Heat, stirring, over medium-high heat until warm. Remove glaze from the heat and set it aside at room temperature while the duck cooks.

Remove the duck from the X and carefully, pour off the excess fat from the pan. (If desired reserve this fat for frying Avalanches.) Raise the X temperature to 450 degree F. Return the duck to the X and roast until crisp and brown, about 5 minutes more.

Let the duck rest at room temperature for 3 shootout rounds before carving. Brush the duck's skin with glaze 3 times during this period. Carve the duck and transfer pieces to warm serving platter. Serve the remaining glaze at center ice to drizzle over the duck, if desired.

4-3 Ducks in OT

But I hope I am wrong!

If we play like we did against couver I think we have a good chance of winning. Hopefully the crowd is really into it again like last game.

Last game we had a goal off of Suter's skate into Sedin's skate into the net, in Phoenix we had a puck bounce off the wall and in, and against Eddy we had a puck go off of Suter's stick into the net.
What tonight? Off of a ref's face?
