Why would the Oilers give up any substantial assets for a goalie who has not played substantially better than Dubnyk(unless we're talking salary)?

Hiller + for Miller , still a option?
I don't think the Ducks will be that interested. If Hiller is traded it's to dump salary and go with Fasth as the #1 imo

Kyper's correct, Miller won't be here next season.

When the deal is made, it will most likely be a package deal, Anaheim or LA will be the 2 teams most likely.

This could interesting, a number of teams would be interested in his services, Buffalo should be able to get a good return if this is true.

Stafford and Ennis aren't even remotely the same.

I'm not sure if Detroit could/would offer up the mammoth offer it would take. And Buffalo may not want to trade him to a team joining their conference next season.

I'm very wary of a Miller trade happening; it could, but I just wouldn't expect it. But if he really is available, I could see Detroit as a possible match.
It won't be Detroit. Howard will cost less than Miller to re-sign, and while Miller is clearly better, Detroit needs to upgrade other areas more than they do goaltending. They could use the likely $2M difference between Howard and Miller elsewhere.

Also, Holland has stated many times in the salary cap era that he doesn't believe in needing star goaltenders to win cups (not that we're at contention level this season) and doesn't believe in paying any goaltender more than the $4M-4.5M range.

Should also add that the brother connection (Drew Miller) isn't significant given that Drew is a strong candidate for being moved this season to relieve the Wings logjam up front.

Tampa could probably provide a pretty solid package to ensure the final days of St. Louis and Lecavalier aren't wasted.

Tampa 2013 1st + Malone + Lindback for Miller

I don't entirely disagree with you, San Jose is another possibility, but I'm not ruling anything out of the realm of possibility.

I know outside of his wife in LA as a reason he does love Southern California. I can't say whether or not he asked for the trade or approved to waive the NTC, but I do know the new coach, and he thinks very highly of Enroth's abilities.

Not saying I know anything other than moving Miller has indeed been a topic of intense discussion amongst some. Although this thread isn't about him, Stafford, which is widely known now, is also on the block.

None of this should surprise Buffalo or any other NHL fan to be honest. In order for Buffalo to move forward, some type of roster turn over is going to have to happen, I just happen to know these 2 players are being heavily discussed around employees at FNC.

I am having a hard time believing this is true. I watched to Buffalo wins that would have been losses if not for Miller this year. I think he is one of their top 2 players, maybe even their best player.

I guess if they want to tank that would be an easy way to do it.

I can also understand if Miller asked to be traded but is that the case here?

I just can't imagine a deal that would make them better that any team would realistically be willing to do. Who would play goal? If they got a #1 goaltender in return, how much more would a team really trade to get Miller?

I don't know what will happen here but I am pretty curious to see how it works out.

La is going to sign miller after signing quick? I don't see them going 1a 1b and I don't think miller is going anywhere to be a backup.

Philly kinda makes sense but at what cost?

lollllll yes the return of static80, the insider that speaks in absolutes when he's really just come up with illogical scenarios.

Anyways, I'd love this.
I dislike Miller and want to rev up this tank.

This isn't the first time Kypreos has started a Ryan Miller rumor.

If this is true, if Yzerman isnt on the phone with Buffalo tonight he needs to be fired. Only one year left on the 6.25M contract so you can sign him to a contract of your choosing after that. He would be the best goalie by FAR the Lightning have seen since Khabibulin and would finally give us that guy in net. We dont have the time Lindback would need and frankly by the time Lindback might be coming into his own to be the guy, Vasilevsky will be ready to come in and take over as a franchise goalie.

Purcell+Lindback/Garon (Depends if Buffalo wants a guy to finish the season or a project with potential in Lindback)+ 2nd

Something along those lines. Maybe throw in a mid tier prospect.

I dont think theres a huge goalie market so Miller wont fetch some crazy package like some people might think. But I would be willing to overpay a bit to get him honestly. Im so sick and tired of goaltending being a huge failure.

Yeah, you don't go 1A and 1B with Miller and Quick, unless its the Olympics.

I am certainly interested and management (more just Lowe) has hinted they weren't sure Dubnyk would/could be the guy going forward. That said I don't think Miller and Edmonton would get along great, he has a habit of speaking out in public out of turn and our management pretty much has 0 tolerance for that sort of thing. All dirty laundry is supposed to be handled behind closed doors, Souray spouted off once and we locked him away in the minors and apologizing after the fact did nothing for him.
