It was idiotic considering that extra point could mean the difference between the 8th spot and an early start to the golfing season. I wish Rask would've had the presence of mind to simply lie down in the crease and simply lie there motionless
(For those wondering) Daugavins flipped his stick and placed the blade on top of the puck, essentially pushing it towards the net, ringuette style. There was no way of lifting the puck whatsoever. He was hoping to spin-o-rama it into the net.
it wouldn't be that hard to lift to puck. you could flip it with the blade of your stick.
I have no problem with the lacrosse move. The puck is still coming off the stick and it's a hell of a lot harder than shooting. If someone can pull it off effectively, that's impressive. It widens the game and what is considered possible.
There was a time where goalies were penalized for going down on the ice; I think the game is much better with butterfly saves possible. It's another skillset, just like these shots are another interesting skillset.
Down in the basement, I've got a Craftsman lathe. Show it to the children when they misbehave.
amazing how bad Hank looked when NYR D let Vanek come in all alone off the wing ....
Amazing how he STILL stops that crap more than Bryz.
Examples: take a look at their shootout percentage. It lets you know how a goalie fares alone against shooters. This year, Bryz is at 0%, Henrik at .800. Last year, it's Bryz at .480 compared to Henrik at .720.
