Meh, I don't think there's anything behind this.

Just an FYI to all of you that don't watch the Sabres often, Miller has been very good this year. I think we are tied for 1st in the league in 1goal games, and he is the reason for that. He's played pretty well behind an aweful defense.

Anyway, him being traded wouldn't surprise me and I have a Miller jersey. I also think he has a limited no trade clause, where he can list 8 teams that he can't be traded too...

The Sabres lead the league in defensive zone suck.

They're seriously the worst team in the league in their own end, by far. It's the worst I've seen post lockout. Miller has had several games where he's played lights out and still gives up four goals.

Any way Edmonton parts with their first in a deal for Miller and an experienced forward.

Obviously there'd be more components to the deal.

There's a few teams I could kinda-sorta see making a bigger move for a goalie: NYI, Toronto, Edmonton...

...but Tampa makes the most sense by far. Miller would be a good fit there

Keep in mind he has an 8-team NTC. Though I'd love to see him backstopping all those good young players, I think Edmonton would be on the list. Tampa may make a good trade partner.

I really don't mind this one bit from a buf pov. Even if it needed to be tweaked.
I'd be interested to see if this interests Anaheim at all though...

So Buffalo fans, lets assume he is going to be traded. What would you realistically be looking for from TB?

Would something around Purcell/Malone+Lindback/Garon+2nd be a base or tweaked etc?

Make that Miller and Stafford for Hiller and Ryan, no draft pick.

Contract lengths are the same (each goalie one year, each FW two years) and cap hits are almost identical (under one mil difference). It makes sense if the teams feel a change of scenery is best for those involved. It doesn't make sense as almost any goalie less than Miller will allow 4 goals/gm until Buffalo's team defense gets squared away, and the gap between Ryan and Stafford might be too much, where Buffalo would throw in a draft pick.

Why is anyone doing Miller to LA or Miller to Anaheim trades? They make zero sense. Neither of those teams needs a goalie, let alone a goalie making what Miller does.

If miller was an UFA, would you give him a 6 250 000$ x 1 years contract now?

I'll call Darcey that would be a great trade, we could still mover Pommer/+ for something else.

Assuming this is an honest question I think the answer is yes. He's played great this year with a horrible D in front of him..

Lecavalier, but he's a little too old and his cap hit is completely out of the question.

Conacher but he's not proven enough.

Hedman sounds about right, but TB might have to add a pick/prospect.

Hedman + Conacher is too steep for TB, and anything involving Hedman might be a non-starter anyway, so I doubt it happens unless Buffalo settles for a package of picks/prospects. That doesn't sound like Yzerman's style though.

Buffalo would be most interested in TB's 1st--preferably this year, but I'd settle for next year's--and Connolly. I'd have to think at least one of those would have to be in any package for Miller.

That Purcell plays so much with Stamkos worries me that his production wouldn't come with him to Buffalo.

This doesn't shock me in the slightest. He has such an abrasive personality (or at least that we see on TV) that I have been expecting to hear this for a while. It's one thing when you run your mouth and you are at the top of your game, its another when you run your mouth when you haven't played well in a couple seasons.

I sure wouldn't want him on my team.

Miller might be a good fit in PHX. I think he wants to be out West and that's pretty much the closest team to LA that could use a goalie.

Buffalo would probably require one of the top-4 forwards Edmonton has to come back. Likely Yakupov, IMO.

So long story short Buffalo fans want the world for him, understandbly, but not realistic. Hedman? A top 5 pick? Come on now. We are talking about basically one year of Miller. Theres no guarantee he resigns.

You dont give up anything that you guys are asking for for that.

Moving on...

This guy has been saying the same thing for a while now. He is the same guy that started the Miller for Kane rumors and the Miller asking to be traded out west rumors last year. There is nothing behind this rumor.
