1. Acquire Kucherov
2. Put him on Grigo's wing
3. Profit.

Miller and Smith do not belong on the same team. Both are starting caliber NHL goalies.

I sure wouldn't want him on my team.
He gets bombarded with stupidity on a regular basis from Buffalo "media", backstops one of the worst defensive teams in the league several years running, and has actually played really well this season despite the pathetic play in front of him. He's masked how bad the Sabres are for a couple seasons now, and still has at least 3-4 prime years ahead of him. He calls out the teams crappy play when it's deserved and rather obvious, and there should be more of that in Buffalo's locker room, not less. I'd take anyone like him on my team every chance.

lol you haven't watched Buffalo much in the last couple seasons have you? Miller plays behind by far the league's worst defense this season. How excited other NE teams' fans are about the idea of him leaving the division should tell you something about how good he is.

Moot point though, because he's not going anywhere.

He has value, major value. The contract is the good part because it gets you the year as a rental and you can say to your fans we have for one more year with option to resign or trade again at deadline. An 8 team NTC is not bad. Teams do not want a long-term contract. I wouldn't touch Luongo.
I agree he's overvalued by Sabres fans but he'd generate plenty at deadline based on previous deals. More than some have suggested here. I'd expect two good young players/prospects...

I think I explained how the teams would not be ideal trade partners. Besides, if it's in the off-season an extension can be negotiated. Moving on? Just go away if you don't want your questions answered.

I don't think I would. Tampa with miller next year plus retaining their probable top 5 pick this year spells a pick no better than 15th next year. Not worth it IMO. I think we cold do better no?

Miller is also much better than Smith who is UFA at the end of the season. Miller's salary would also help keep PHX above the salary cap floor.

I think Tampa Bay and New Jersey make the most sense to me if Miller were moved.

Not for the Miller of the past season and a half.

You obviously havent heard that the Oilers have been the worst team in the past 3 years. Yet, Dubnyk still has the same SV%

Miller is surely to deny any trade to EDM anyway.

Fan favorite. Leadership. Pegula loves him. There are three reasons.

Miller makes highlite saves almost every game, the quality of chances he faces on a regular basis is ridiculous...it really is. Ask around and see how many people put Miller and Dubnyk in the same sentence. Miller is not a god, but he'd be a regular Vezina candidate on a team with a semi-competent defensive team.

Gagner has been our best forward this year.

It's funny how some people think that Miller who has NTC will waive it for Jackets or Oilers? cmon?
How about Devils? although Miller is 32 or 33...but still has some gas in the tank for about 4-5 years so...
Miller for Hedberg, Zubrus and a pick? Zubrus is a one time Sabre.
In my opinion this would be a great trade if both goalies are willing to waive. Enroth could learn a lot from Hedberg.

I hope so. The Oilers dont need Miller as their highest paid player even if it is for one season. They need to use that money for a true top pairing defenseman

Miller has been on the block since before the Lucic incident happened last year. Remember, that incident basically nixed a deal that would have sent him to the Ducks.

That being said, Miller has seemed a lot more disenchanted this season then most and I think hes in a place where hed be OK with the trade. I really believe hed be dealt by next deadline anyway bc Buffalo knows it will be an uphill battle to get him to resign.

But obviously with his NTC, hell have his pick of where he ends up, and itll likely be the furthest west he can get
