mind you i dont know how this attitude will change if we go on a skid, but so far he's had the team prepared for the majority of the games.
I think other than the two leafs games, (regardless of midgame collapse and end result), the team has come prepared for every game
my only complains about him are:
1) in game adjustments are lacking or very minimal
2) needs to learn to shorten his bench (had this issue in Pittsburgh as well). Near the end of the game is you need a goal, you sit certain players and doubleshift others.
What I really am impressed with....TSN showed highlights of last night's game against Ottawa and they showed a brief clip after the game with Therrien. He wasn't upset with the loss...he said Bishop had an absolutely phenomenal game and that he deserves a lot of credit.
He gave credit where credit was due....which a lot of coaches would not...they would say something like 'the reffing was bad' or 'we just couldn't capitalize on our chances'....etc...

We were on a three game losing streak a few weeks ago and he didn't change a bit.
If we manage to land a big UFA during the summer, I personally believe it will be because of MT.
Michel Therrien, so far, has been able to sell his game plan to almost everybody he has dealt with, to very high results.
It started off with Marc Bergevin. You probably know that Crawford was ahead in the runnings for the head coach position, right until Bergevin met Therrien who told him his vision and objectives for the team. That won him the job.
And then, Therrien went to Prust's home on the 1st of July, and told him his vision and objective for the team, and Prust's place in it. Prust wanted to be a more important part of a team than just a 4th liner, so he bought in.
And THEN, Therrien went to his players in the first few matches, and made them buy into his vision of what this team's spirits should be, and how he wants them to perform. He put his cards on the table quickly; benching Eller and putting him on 4th line duty later. Giving Diaz more icetime. Upgrading Gallagher to a role that you wouldn't expect a rookie to get. The more you buy into the system, the more icetime you will get. And it is working.
I believe Therrien will be able to sell his team concept once again to a guy like Perry in the off-season. But now, he'll have a strong NHL season as evidence to show, and promise that he has a plan as to where that UFA should be in this team concept.
Terrien took a 2002 Habs team far, far weaker than this year's club deep into playoffs. If it wasn't for the Zednik elbow good chance they would go to Finals. Let's all hope in situation arisers he's learned importance of 3rd period faceoffs.

Couldn`t believe MT scratched White last night....our best faceoff guy ! and he`s been working like a dog......Great to see MT bench Ryder in the 3rd during the Cains game. He was playing like he DID NOT want the puck..Mike had a much better game last night..Still can`t believe he hasn`t given Galchenyuk some deserved PP time.....I think he`s the snipper we`ve been looking for. What great hands. Can people who have seen Gal shoot in warm up confirm he has a potent shot with a quick release ??

I'm not afraid to admit he's proving me wrong, BIG TIME.
I'm mostly in agreement with this, although not sure if I would use the word "hated" in my case. I felt it somewhat of a lazy decision. He seems like he's learned a lot between the first stint and this one. Right now, he looks like the best coach we've had in a long time.

We had good ones in the past but they were all rookies like Therrien himself, Vigneault, Julien, Carbonneau (Cunneyworth)...
Therrien was among the best coaches (with NHL experience) AVAILABLE last Spring.

But he doesn't have Crosby or Malkin or J. Staal here.
Glad to see a lot of people being proven wrong bout MT, and even more proud to see people owning to it. Would never see that on the Bruins board or likely many other teams. Takes a lot to own it imo. One things for sure, if being proven wrong is good, lets keep it up!

I'ts not about adding individuals, it's about creating a system that actually fits the kind of players you have on your roster.
Not to give him any praise, but Gauthier tried to assemble a team based on speed and puck control, but Martin never figured how to use it in a coherent and productive system.
This is what Therrien has been doing. He's not just benefiting from an improved team like you seem to imply.
He's making a couple of people on this board look very, very bad. I personally wanted people to give the guy a chance before judging him and hating on the signing. One could hope that it's going to be a lesson going forward and that the so-called experts him will wait and see what happens before throwing someone rocks based on his pasts and history. Especially when you only got an outside view on things.
He has a huge say in the way Eller and Subban are playing today. Especially Eller. He took this guy and made more involved in all facets of the game. He might not make him a great playmaker or gift him with a great vision of the ice, but he for damn sure made him a tougher player to play against and a more involved guy on the forecheck.
He deserves tons of credit for his handling of young players.

Adding that kind of talent has to help. There's no way of denying it. An all-star like Markov, Sparkplug like Gallagher or high pick like Galchenyuk.
One thing to remember about Therrein's previous clubs...either the 2002 Habs or 2008 Pens, he never lasted another full season as they hit the wall at one point and he was fired.
