Tonight's Games:
--------------
London and Erie is meaningless.

If Plymouth beats the Soo, the Soo can't catch up to the Storm. That would guarantee a Kitchener/Guelph matchup, with home ice left to be decided.

Guelph can also clinch 5th place with a win against Kitchener tonight. It would give set them up for a series, with home ice still left to be decided, except tied on points.A Kitchener loss, even in OT, would give OS third place.

Belleville vs Oshawa is the only game in the East. If the game is taken to overtime, Belleville will have clinched their division. This means Oshawa will be stuck at third place.
-------------
Back to the race at the bottom of the East. It says here that the tiebreaker game would be played on Tuesday, and Kingston isn't able to host it.

Brampton vs Peterborough on the last day of the season. If Brampton has 4th place locked up, they'll have nothing to play for and will probably be resting guys. Against a desperate Petes team.

When was the last time there was a tie-breaker game? If there is one, any chance it might be streamed?

As I mentioned before, pretty tough to play the tie-breaking game the night before going into Belleville.

The whole thing seems really strange, even more so that Peterborough would host the game even though they would lose the normal tie-breaker (wins) because the arena in Kingston is booked. At worst they should play in Belleville. At best they should play Monday in Kingston.

Belleville gets the W, clinched their division. Oshawa will be the third seed.

Plymouth thrashes the Soo. Soo cannot catch up to Guelph, so Guelph clinches at least 5th seed.

Kitchener wins, and they need only 1 more point (or Guelph point lost) to clinch home advantage. They can still mathematically catch OS. But the Attack hold the tiebreaker, so Kitchener will need to beat them out on points alone. Kitchener needs to collect 4/4 points, and hope Owen Sound get 0/6.

Kitchener Schedule: @ Sag, @ SSM
Owen Sound Schedule: @ Wsr, @ Sar, vs Sar

Not likely at all, but technically possible.

So here's what we know for sure:

Western Conference
----------------
1. London
2. Plymouth
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8. Saginaw
9. Windsor
10. Erie

Eastern Conference
--------------
1.
2.
3. Oshawa Generals
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. Ottawa 67s

Brampton vs Niagara: If Brampton wins, they clinch fourth place. Niagara needs the points to keep up with Sudbury.

OS vs Windsor:

If OS gets at least 1 point, they clinch third place. This would also guarantee a Kitchener/Guelph matchup. Windsor has nothing to play for.

Kingston vs Barrie:

If Kingston loses in regulation, they'll be tied with the Petes. If they lose in OT, they'll be tied with the Steelheads. If they win, they'll take sole possession of 7th place. Barrie needs to keep up with Belleville.

Saginaw vs Sarnia: Sarnia can tie the Soo with a win. Saginaw doesn't have anything to play for.

Colts down the Fronts 4-2. The Fronts are now tied with the Petes on points. Petes vs Fronts on Friday will be HUGE. The winner of that game, if it's in regulation, can guarantee at least a tiebreaker game. The Fronts can't host a tiebreaker game as well.

OS clinches 3rd place. OS/Ply will play SSM/Sarnia

This sets up a Kitchener vs Guelph 4v5 matchup. Home ice still to be decided. Kitchener needs just 1 point won, or lost from Guelph, to have home ice. It should be noted that Guelph has a better away record than home. Nonetheless, Guelph can catch Kitchener still, as long as they win both and Kitchener loses both.

Guelph: vs Erie, @ Erie
Kitchener: vs Sag, vs SSM

Brampton locks up 4th place with the win over Niagara. They will host either Sudbury or Niagara. Each team has 2 games left, and Sudbury is 3 points up. But they do play tomorrow, so it isn't over.

Western Conference
----------------
1. London
2. Plymouth
3. Owen Sound
4.
5.
6.
7.
8. Saginaw
9. Windsor
10. Erie

Eastern Conference
--------------
1.
2.
3. Oshawa
4. Brampton
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. Ottawa

This is an insane race for 8th.

If Missy wins and the Petes lose the Steelheads clinch.

The Peterborough, Kingston game has the biggest playoff implications, an OT game would have them one team tieing the Steelheads if they lose while the other one passing them.

This is coming down to the nitty gritty. Good luck to all 3 teams. The Petes do deserve some good fortune after a solid comeback this second half.

No kidding. The Petes were 16 points behind not too long ago. Hull has done a great job.

I am cheering for the Petes to get in, just because I want to see something positive for them, after missing the playoffs so much. They deserve it. Also, Peterborough has played Belleville tough all year, and they might be the best team to pull off the upset.

Petes/Fronts is on Sportsnet tonight.

Playoff Matchups:

London vs Saginaw, Kitchener vs Guelph, Oshawa vs Niagara, Brampton vs Sudbury.

There's only 2 playoff races still remaining. The 3-way battle in the East, and SSM vs Sarnia.

Peterborough beats Kingston in an overtime thriller.

Petes can lock up a playoff spot in 3 ways: Mississauga loses to Ottawa tomorrow night, Kingston loses to Ottawa on Sunday, or Peterborough beats Brampton on Sunday.

Petes can guarantee at least a tiebreaker in 3 ways: Mississauga loses in OT, Kingston loses in OT, Peterborough loses in OT.

Steelheads haven't won in 9 straight games. Ottawa controls the fate of this playoff race.

Here's a question. Will Brampton be resting players against the Petes on Sunday? It's important to keep in mind that it's their last regular season home game in Brampton.

Meanwhile, SSM needs 1/2 to clinch 6th place and play OS.

I have been saying that Ottawa was going to have a say into who is or who is not going to make it. Ottawa only has to beat one of them for the Petes to make it. Although, if the Petes beat Brampton they control their own fate. I know what I will be doing Sunday.

What a run by the Pete's to get to this position. Missy and the Fronts have fallen back but credit to the Pete's who have turned it around the 2nd half.
Great finish to the year in the east!

Missy beat Ottawa 4-3 toady moving them into 7th place in the East for now. Big games tomorrow for the Fronts at home vs. Ottawa and the Petes at Brampton.

The phrase in Peterborough for today is "Win and your in".

Kingston up 4-0.

Peterborough down 2-1.

I'm rooting for it to come down to that crazy GF/GA tie-breaker. Need the Petes to get at least a point and Kingston to win.

2 minutes to go... 4-2 for the Battalion. Petes need to get this tied, as the Fronts are going to win.

Petes done, Fronts finish 7th and play Barrie, Missy is8th and play Belleville . Petes had a good run to make it interesting but came up a little short.

That's got to be heartbreaking for Petes fans. They've missed the playoffs and have come ninth for the third straight year.

They can definitely take some positives out of this season though. They've found a good coach and had an awesome 2nd half. They also get the 3rd overall draft pick.

Fronts and the Steelheads make the playoffs. Fronts come 7th for having more wins.

All playoff matches are set. Was a very exciting conclusion to the regular season. On to the playoffs!

The Petes responded well, bringing themselves down to the last game. For that, they deserve much credit. I was really pulling for them to do it.

Yeah very disappointing for the Petes, after such a great second half was really pulling for them also. But you have to hand it to the Brampton Battalions for winning this game. Great tribute before the game. Onto North Bay next season.

On to the playoffs, in for some very exciting hockey and no more blowouts. Intensity is going to be picked up.
