I think Eklund is claiming these are all teams that have called and inquired about Buff. I'm not sure if I believe him on this one. I see zero reason for the Jets to trade him

Doubt Winnipeg moves him unless they get an outstanding offer or they're completely out of it by the deadline.

I see Buff better as an off season trade rather than a trade deadline pick up. He has 3 more years with his salary increasing up to 6 in the last(cap hit 5.2). Flyers and Detroit make the most sense out of those teams, but don't see them shoveling the assets that are going to be demanded at the deadline.

All 30 NHL teams are rumored to be interested in one or both of Crosby and Karlsson. (TMI 5)

He made sure to throw both the Leafs and the Habs in there to generate traffic.

Unless it's a massive overpayment, it isn't happening. Buff is one of the top fan favorites, and it one of the top D men in the league....that's right....I said it!

He doesn't get anywhere near the respect that he deserves. He is a beast on offense and his defense is leaps and bounds better what it was last year.

He hits
His positioning has improved 10 fold
He has great hockey sense
His offensive game is second only to Karlsson

But all that apparently gets pushed aside because he's a bigger fellow.

If he keeps playing the way he is, I would certainly put him in the top 15 to top 20 D men in the league.

If he can keep that consistency into next year, he only moves up the list.

Oh dear lord no. He's overrated.

Now, Enstrom or Bogosian...

This this this.

I like big Buf, but please stay far away JR.

Also... why the hell would Winnipeg be trading him during the middle of a playoff push? makes no sense.

Phaneuf and Buf would be a pretty nasty pairing

What would be his worth anyway?

He really does deserve to be on a Playoff bound team, he seems like a guy that loves to compete.

Would be interesting to see if this actually has legs.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I said no because:

--He's not that good;
--The 'Canes don't have a good enough defenceman to cover for Big Buff and let him use his skillset;
--The 'Canes (or anyone) would have to give up a sizable amount to get him, and;
--His contract is pretty bad.

For the other team.

I highly doubt Byfuglien is available, Winnipeg wouldn't trade him in the middle of a push for the division.

He certainly seems like one of the last players on this team that would get traded. You just can't replace what he does on the back end. I cannot wait until Enstrom gets back because both him and Buff's play compliment each other so well.

The only Jets D that I can see being available is Hainsey and even he has played very very well over the last few games. Certainly good enough to warrant an extension.

He had 53 points in 66 games last year. This year his offense has been slowed by injuries but his defense is much much better. I don't get where all of this "He's not that good" stuff comes from when his play certainly shows the opposite.

I can agree with points 2 and 3 and point 4 kind of coincides with point 1.

Last year I would agree but this year he's been so much more stable in his own zone. I really hope he stays consistent for this year so he can shake the "risky" tag that's been placed on him.

Enstrom is on IR.

OT: I like Buff for the leafs. Definitely could see a Phaneuf-Buff pair and that would be straight nasty. I have no idea what he would be worth though.
