Before they can start skating usually they first have to be symptom free at rest.

Then have to ride the bike or do work in the gym, again with no symptoms.

Then they move on to skating then full practice. Bourque has only been out what, 3 weeks, so hopefully his conditionning isn't too bad.

The last thing we need is to rush these guys back out of a false sense of urgency. Unless the team is spiralling out of the playoffs, we should be make sure all injuries are 100% healed before sticking the player in a game situation. Bourque, Prust and Diaz are more valuable if an extra week's rest gives them that extra fuel post-season. We need health for the playoffs, not a banged-up roster with concussion risks.

+100000000000.
Exactly.

Was waiting for someone to write this or else I was going to!
I want to know more about the green light from the doctor...

Gallagher (hope he didn't rush back)
Prust
Bourque
Diaz

I don't want any of them rushing back...
It's all about the playoffs.

Very good news, means no symptoms after yesterday's skate.

Kinda OT, but I'd love to see a Bourque - Plek - Ryder line upon return. Throw Gio w/ Galchenyuk and Eller and we have a solid top 9.

With a healthy line-up Prust ends up essentially on the 4th line....I'm not sold that we need to give up picks/prospects for Clowe, especially if it turns into a bidding war which seems likely. Paul Gaustad netted a first last year.

Yup. When you're back in the gym/on the ice after suffering a concussion, it usually means you're symptom free and should be back within a week. That is, if those symptoms don't come back.

I suspect that depends how long you had symptoms before becoming
"symptom free. And it might not be linear. As in, twice as long with symptoms,
might require more than twice as long without, before being cleared to play.

I'd prefer leaving Gio with Plekanec. 1-he is hot goal scoring wise 2-he is better defensively, that line gets tougher matchups.

Yes. A line of Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta, gives you a solid defensive
line for tough match-ups.

Sounds like both guys are improving, and barring any setbacks, Bourque can be cleared in a week,, which will coincide with Prust getting ready to return.

At any rate, barring any setbacks, Bourque is obviously ahead of Diaz at this point in the recovery process, but diaz working out is also a positive. None of them would be involved in training activities if they were feeling PCS right now.

Amazing, isn't it? Up until a few years ago, the protocol for concussions was to pop two Aspirin and keep playing until your head cleared.

Off-day today (off day practice) - so no word on Bourque or anyone. I wont be surprised if Bourque trained today.

I would guess today is non-contact for him.

Weird that others are reporting he's not at practice:

@GLefrancoisRC
#Habs Les absents ce matin: Prust, Bourque, Diaz, Weber (blessés), Nokelainen (ballottage)

Maybe he was practicing on his own? Godin said he was with the team though...hmm...

Is it me, or does Godin jump the gun a lot? I know there's always the race to be 1st to report something on twitter, but due diligence is still expected.

You guys got me excited for a moment.....

It must be a severe concussion for both Diaz and Bourque since no update at all for 2 weeks..

Surprisingly, I miss Bourque. Driving the net hard with speed made Plekanec that much more dangerous.
