Huet year #1 with Hawks = 20-15-4 with 2.53 GAA and .909 Sv Pct
Bryzgalov year #1 with Flyers = 33-16-7 with 2.48 GAA and .909 Sv Pct

Huet year #2 with Hawks = 26-14-4 with 2.50 GAA and .895 Sv Pct
Bryzgalov year #2 with Flyers = 12-12-1 with 2.86 GAA and .896 Sv Pct

Huet buried for years #3/4
Bryz years #3 and beyond = Possible buyout?

Very similiar paths
How the hell did Huet end up with 4 shutouts with .895%?

Keith + Seabrook as #1 pair

2010 Keith/Seabrook was possibly one of the best 1-2 tandem pefromances in recent memory

Guys were both beasts that year

Because the blackhawks were good and scary deep.

Leighton had 3 playoff shutouts, not because he was good.

Philadelphia has such a history for hating goalies it's unreal. If a season goes poorly, it's always the goalie's fault. In the past 10 to 15 years, when has it never been the goalies fault?

When has the goalie been consistently good? 4 seasons?

Man, I remember when Cech and Esche were #1's here. Look how long they lasted...

Cechmanek was a complete headcase and Esche wasn't good enough.

Exactly.

Bryz has always been set up to fail with this coaching staff and squad. He's not a great goalie, but he's shown in an environment that is somewhat condusive to defense he can be effective.

It's a real shame, i wish we could get a Henrik Lundqvist and then watch him get torched game in and game out with moronic play in front of him.

The problem is, we never have anyone good enough. I think Stolarz might be the first goalie Flyers fans have hyped up to really be something special. Can you think of a Flyers goalie that was looked forward to as much as him? I mean, when was the last time we home grew a goalie and did well? Hextall?

Hextall. Then his groin exploded.

Probably could have been Bobrovsky, but for a variety of reasons that went wrong.

Edit: I'm not excited for Stolarz yet. He's still too far away.

Bobrovsky didn't come up in the farm. Hell, he wasn't even drafted. He got signed and started right in the NHL.

Bryz is helping us get a good draft pick. So he's not in the doghouse anymore for me.

Guys..Bobrovsky is not that much better than Bryz. The Flyers just need to adopt a more defensive system.

As bad as Columbus is (was) they have a very good D. Fedor Tyutin is one of the most underrated D in the league.

Their system is geared more to the offensive side.

when the team is bad so is the goalie, it doesnt matter how great the goalie is. goalies cant do everything if the team doesnt play right, brodeur went through bad seasons with the devils but they didnt get rid of him.

Bob is playing light years ahead of Bryz right now

Off the top of my head, there was a year where Czechmanek was good, and then there was a year where we had a tandem of Biron and Niitty who both got warmed up just as the other was cooling off. I guess Boosh's rookie year wasn't bad.

Brodeur is pretty high on the list of all time great goalies and a shoe-in hall of famer.

Bryz is neither of those things. Not the best comparison.

Boosh was pretty much lights out during his rookie year. Things were looking good and then he turned into a sieve.

How about comparing Miller and Brodeur. Miller won the Vezina 2/3 years back, now he's chopped liver. I'm sure he just forgot how to goaltend.

I had such hopes for Boosh. My father refused to have any hope for Bob, saying "He's just another Boucher. All our goalies are Bouchers."
