How is JAM doing? I see his numbers in the AHL are great, as expected. Why hasn't he earned a longer look with the Jackets?

He wasn't very good when he was called up. Needs more time.

Not consistent. Cocky, big ego, chirps too much. If he can mature, I think he gets a look at camp next season.

nice comeback tonight in the 3rd to get it to overtime/shootout. Does anyone know if Savard was hurt or was he a healthy scratch?

As one of the Springfield residents I'll take this one. I'd say he's got a nice rebound producing shot however his defense needs some work. He gets caught behind guys a lot so he take a fair amount of penalties. I've only seen him in maybe 4 games but would say he's got potential to stick in the A.

That's a damn shame. It would be nice if the CBJ could keep enough players healthy to keep players valuable to Springfield down there, but it is what it is.

Life in the AHL, as it were ... the most successful AHL teams are typically the ones stocked with AHL-lifers - like the Hershey Bears from a few years ago, led by Alexandre Giroux.

The Falcons scoring has dried up...they haven't scored more then 2 goals in a game in the last 8. They have given up an average of 2.6 goals over those 8 games so defensively still pretty strong.

IMO, he should not be in the AHL. I call him traffic cone and I know that is not the nicest thing to say, but he just stands there. He's not the only defenseman playing badly, it's a half/half split of AHL and ECHL d-men talent wise here.

Congrats to the Falcons and Curtis McElhinney who snapped their 6 game winless streak and McElhinney recorded his 9th shutout of the year, becoming the franchise leader in Falcons history in shutouts.

Can someone who knows more than I answer this question for me.

It appears that the Falcons will make the playoffs but it is still up in the air for the Jackets, if the CBJ come up short at the end can the young guys that started in SPR, Johansen, Calvert, Atkinson, Erixon, Prout, Moore, go back to play for the Calder Cup?

Someone else will have to comment on the eligibility requirements, but I do know that there's a deadline (has the date been announced, yet?) by which a roster must be submitted with names of those eligible for AHL playoff action. How that date meshes with the NHL playoff picture will, in part, determine their availability (assuming any/all are eigible, to begin with).

If they don't have to clear waivers anymore (this applies to more then a few of them), yes. The AHL got rid of clear-day rosters.

Things are a little messed up this year though. The AHL season ends in early-mid April while the NHL season ends in late April. They normally end within a day or 2 of each other.

You guys have no idea how much I would love to get the latter 5 of those guys back for a Calder Cup run but as Samkow mentioned our season ends a week before yours this year so I'm concerned that our best case situation would be getting Prout back.

Falcons are rolling again with 3 wins this week. McElhinney only let in 4 goals total in the 3 games and also a good week for Vogelhuber and Holden both with 2 goals and an assist and Joudrey with a goal, 2 assists and a shoot-out winner last night.

I cannot comment on the details of the injury because I have agreed to not do so, but don't expect him back the rest of the year.
