I just happen to think Subban wasnt as good (but good anyway) as he is now... how stupid of me to think he improved on his previous seasons heh ?
funny thing is, I keep reading, pages after pages, posters talking about different things PK improved on (decision making, using his wrister more, more patient, etc). Guess I was wrong all along
We can agree or disagree on just how much PK improved since last year.
The issue is more about what PK got has a deal. Not only had he already proven to be a lot more worthy of the deal he signed, but it was also predictable that he would improve to become even more solid, after all, he had already done it in back to back years.
What PK is showing isn't surprising, that's why so many wanted him locked up long term right away.
It was especially not worth to have a dispute over.
People here are blowing the comments on l'Antichambre way out of proportion. It's ridiculous.
Those morons have no problem crapping on PK.
They say that he's not liked by his teammates to the point where some might not have been too welcoming of his return. They even said that it might be better for him to stay at home. They compared him to Michael freaking Del Zotto, you realize that?
cop-out answer, you know that isn't what he meant :-)
Not a cop-out, when asked such question I'll look at everything.
If the question was who's better, then Doughty is still ahead IMO. However, I have to be honest, I believe I only watched 1-2 LA games this year.
Paraphrased from @ladyhabs timeline (a TSN690 producer):
Dreger on TSN690 apparently said that in Therrien's first meeting with PK after the holdout, he viewed him as an elite defenseman, an immediate leader in the room, and potentially a team captain down the road.
Might explain some of the changes in PK's behaviour, like his not doing nearly as many interviews.
Definitely. Come July, Bergevin should start talking to Meehan and get a long term contract done. PK was good with the Habs regarding his last contract and that's what the Habs wanted, now time to reward him
I don't think they can sign him until the summer according to the CBA. And you're dreaming if you think 5m will do it. That ship has sailed. Now he's going to be looking at over 7m possibly even 8+ if he gets Norris consideration.
We probably should have avoided the bridge contract in his case (it was obvious he wasn't a flash in the pan), since it's going to cost us more next summer to extend him, but nevertheless I hope Bergevin locks him up for 5 years minimum.
7x$6.5 is likely. Something along the lines of what Karlsson got.
