Better on the PP, PK and against most teams in the east, but there are a couple of teams where Enstrom struggles because of his size. I think a shift to the west will help Enstroms game immensely.

I believe the Jets also had a winning record with Enstrom out of the line up last season, personally I think the team relaxes too much with Enstrom in the line up and they rely on him too much and over play him to the point where he gets worn down.

He should be traded IMO.

We can get a great forward in return.

Since he loves Winnipeg, calls it home, and the Jets just re-signed him long-term, that has about a 0% chance of happening any time soon.

Plus Chevy said the only guys untouchable are the ones with that written in their contract.
According to Capgeek, Enstrom is one of them.

I'm not sure if the west is physically bigger statistically, but watching western conference games it almost seems more physical with a stronger forecheck, so I don't know how it will help Enstrom. Personally I'd like to see him play less minutes 5 on 5. They've got a ton of money invested in him, better try and keep him healthy.

During that same time frame, we're 8-5-1 with Bogosian in the line up

That record has allot less to do with Toby IMHO and allot more to do with Pavs and Monty. Our goaltending has been so hot lately if it stays at the same rate over the first 13 games when Toby gets back we can easily duplicate the record if not improve on it.

Exactly ps241...

Sip try to beat this one:

Jets' when at or above a 0.900 goaltending (league average goaltending is around 0.914)
12-1-2
1 loss against PIT in regulation
2 OTL are both in SO (BOS and NJD)

Jets' when below a 0.900 goaltending (again remember league average is around 0.914)
2-10-0
2 wins are both in OT (FLA and NYI)

Jets are one game shy of undefeated in regulation with >0.9, Jets haven't won in a single game in regulation with <0.9...

EDIT:
Updated to add the win against NYR

so an update in the Sun

The smooth-skating defenceman was on the ice with the Winnipeg Jets for Thursday’s morning skate, wearing a brite orange non-contact jersey, but remains on the shelf as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury he sustained on Feb. 15 when he was hit by Pascal Dupuis of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
2 weeks, i'd guess? still needs 1-2 contact practices.

Our record was amazing with Mark Flood in the line-up last season, should we bring him back?

These numbers mean squat. This is where statistics and numbers can be thrown directly in the garbage.

Any indications of Enstrom will play on Tuesday?

Also, I think your team would be insane to trade one of the top-5 offensive defensemen in the league. Enstrom is Karlsson/Letang good. He's a true playmaker, and guys like him are very rare.

If the Rangers could magically acquire anyone in the league to boost our current roster, Enstrom would be in my top-10 of desired players.

I really doubt Tuesday.

He's been practicing in a non-contact jersey and I imagine they give him 1 or 2 contact practices before he comes into a game. I'd say closer to the end of this week or next week.

They mentioned perhaps Thursday on the pre pre game 1290 segment today . Nothing official , more speculation than an actual announcement

hang on...did the Sun actually spell the word bright, b-r-i-t-e?.....like from the kid's toy Lite-Brite?

that is quite the newspaper i tell ya.

edit...i sent the author a quick note and he replied that they spell it wrong intentionally because its shorter....its one letter shorter!!!!

anyways....sorry to interrupt.

Jets now 9-5-1 without Enstrom, of course they will better when he gets back, Pavs back in his groove and Bogo have a lot to do with that naturally, I just think the team relaxes too much with Enstrom in and lets him shoulder (his good shoulder) too much. Enstrom should not be playing 30 minutes a game, 20 minutes including PP and PK.

That is a really good point. And I think you're right. Even last year it appeared the team relaxes more and perhaps gets a little more lazy when more "talent" is in the line-up. Whether it's actually occurring or it's just a coincidence, not sure, but a fair point nonetheless.

Does anyone legitimately think that getting the Toby + Buff pairing back wouldn't be awesome? We had, what, 4 minutes of our full d-corps this year? Record with Toby and record without Toby doesn't mean a lot. Hockey is not basketball. I'm pretty sure I've seen a few other variables that explain the teams recent success.

Fantastic point.

I'm really hoping that a healthy Bogosian helps alleviate the icetime going to the Enstrom-Byfuglien pairing and on the PK.

While 30 minutes is overkill, no successful team limits their best defenseman, by far, to 20 minutes per game.
