Hate both teams but I have a bit less hatred for the Leafs, so Leafs.

I wish pain and suffering to the Habs and their fans for eternity, may they all rot in hell!

I don't consider the Leafs rivals at all. I could give a damn if Kessel and Phaneuf raised the Cup.

I'd consider suicide if I saw Subban lift it.

I don't hate the Leafs at all, personally. I enjoy picking on Phil Kessel and Phaneuf, but that's about it. I'm sure some of the Ontario Bruins fans might hold a totally different opinion about the Leafs, though.

Leafs fans earned a lot of goodwill with me during our SC year. They had the largest and most passionate congrats threads after we won the cup, and a lot of them rooted for us throughout and knew all about what the Canucks stood for and they chose the good of the game of hockey over mindless jingoism. I would actively root for them if the B's were out and they were still in it.

I live near Toronto and I don't hate the Leafs at all. The fans I know are great and we have a lot of fun.

I hate the Habs and always will - their fans are condescending and delusional. 40 years of hate.

Of course the Leafs. Not even close. Also, you have to have quite a great life to come onto your rival's board just to give your garbage team a vote...

I'd vote for Kessel and Colbroune to lead a Leafs dynasty over the Habs winning one playoff round.

Leafs. I don't have alot of hatred for them, regardless how some of their fanbase represents themselves on this board. The biggest hockey market in the world and the cradle of hockey. The difference is Montreal is the hell of hockey. Either way, they are both obsessed but I don't really want to spend my eternity in French hell.

If you cheer for the Habs IN ANY SITUATION you can't be a real Bruin's fan.

I like the Leafs and their fans.

As others have said most of the Leaf fans jumped on the B's bandwagon for the cup run even after some here were pretty tough on them.

Hate the habs, will never cheer for them.
But gawd, living in leaf nation with a cup run going on would be unbearable.
I would have to do my best to ignore it and pretend like nothing is happening.

Yeah, i went Leafs. Perhaps if the Leafs had more recent success I'd get my blood boiling a little hotter toward them.

A better poll choice would've been choosing who to cheer for in a SCF: Habs or Nucks. I'd rather get my teeth pulled with no anisethic than choose a winner for that, much less watch it unfold.

Leaf fan here (and no i didnt have the audacity to vote in the poll). I think it was probably split 60:40 for that 2011 cup finals. 60% of the leaf fans who cared wanted you guys to win. The ones who didnt either cheer against division rivals or wanted the cup back in canada. But obviously you guys did play montreal in the first round that year so a lot of us started off cheering for you that playoffs and just never stopped. Also like you mentioned (and this was my personal reason for cheering for you), a lot of us knew what the canucks stood for. I still cringe to think what would have happened if they won the cup with THAT kind of team, inevitably inspiring the hockey world to copy them.

Plus the bruins were basically what the leafs wanted to be at the time; pugnacity, testosterone, belligerence, truculence. Brian Burke basically wanted to mold the leafs into that.

Lastly it was comical how mad you guys made the Habs fans that year

The Laffs. Call it a pity vote and I hate everything Habs except for some of the out-of-character Habs posters we get on here occasionally.

It would probably make for some great hockey.

but at least when push comes to shove the leafs will actually fight and grind instead of cry and dive.

Props to Kadri for not being trade proposal fodder anymore.

Every single vote for Montreal is a Habs fan

This is probably the easiest poll I have ever voted in. Toronto.

What made it worse is that the Habs fans really got along with the Lightning and Canucks fans. Both of those teams had styles or players that the Canadiens fans could easily cheer for against Boston. Icing on the cake was having Habs fans watch the Bruins win three game sevens (including against Montreal) on the way to the Cup. It couldn't have gone any worse for them that year (first round exit to Boston).

This Toronto team is the 2007-2008 Boston Bruins. THey remind me so much of that team it is scary. Boston eventually lost in game 7 against Montreal, but that game 6 in Bsoton when Sturm scored marked the return of the Bruins to the playoffs and contending for the Cup.

This year is the Leafs year to return to the playoffs and have that one big win in the first round that starts the march forward. I wonder who their 'Sturm' is going to be?

Kessel and it will be against the Habs but instead of winning game 6 like we did, they will win game 7 and end the Habs season

That game 6 was one of the best games I have ever seen. Sturm was a legit threat back then.
