Posted this on main board. Really don't like this

8/14 & 8/16 = Horrible.

New schedule = Bad. All this talk about travel/time zones and building divisional rivalries and now you play out of conference teams twice?

New playoff format = Undecided, but not sure why the playoff format needed a massive overhaul.

Tampa & Florida in the North East = Odd

No longer the northeast, so not really odd. I bet we see all 4 away (Habs away) games against TB and Flordia between December and January.

From NHL point of view they would probably prefer new teams be in West given the already poor ratio of West/East cities

I hate this new allignment and the playoffs outlook.

Having Florida and TB in our own division is ridiculous.

Hopefully Phoenix will be relocated in QC soon, and Detroit and Columbus, or the two Florida teams will be moved to the West (central)

By the way PK Péladeau just quit his job as the Prez of the whole Quebecor Corp to take care of Quebecor Media. He will have more time to give to the future NHL team in QC.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. Seattle is building a new arena, they may get priority, but come 2015, how many cities will have an arena built and a market that ADORES hockey? Where they are on the map will not take precedence over other more important factors.

Excited to have Detroit in the conference. Looks bad for Québec.

Florida + TB to Central makes even less sense then current move

And Detroit finally got there wish and wont be going back West (Same with jackets)

IMO this realignment sends message that NHL has no plans to return to QC anytime in future

If they want to lose $$ forever in Phoenix and let them play in front of a half filled house, it's up to them...

Going from Tampa to nashville or Dallas or St-Louis makes way more sense than fglying them to Montreal, TO or Ottawa, don't you think ?

Great news, everyone.

No more garbage SouthEast division! A new Detroit-Montreal rivalry! Probably less games against the Bruins too.

Divisional rivals meet in the playoffs once again. Thank science.

I feel bad for the Detroit/Chicago rivalry, but I love the idea of having the wings in our division! On another note, am I the only 1 who feels that Tampa/Florida in the same division as us is purely a business decision? I mean when the habs are in Florida, the place is packed full and it's great for the money.

Isn't it an unwritten rule that you don't trade within the division? These divisions will kill the trade market. Less possible partners in these divisions. I don't like it! Unless there are other plans we are not aware of yet, like Quebec and Seattle.

Gotta agree with the Tampa/Florida being a business decision. We'll probably have road trips there during Christmas break and other holidays.

Glad to see Detroit in our division, always a fun team to play against. 4 Original six teams in our division, good for marketing I'd imagine.

Confused as to why there's 16 teams in the East and 14 in the West. Hopefully this doesn't mean that they're thinking of relocating a team to Seattle and not Quebec City. I really want to get that Canadiens-Nordiques rivalry back.

If TB and Florida are surviving only because of the Habs or Leafs, then, they should be reclocated in REAL hockey markets.

Playing Tampa, Florida and the West for half a season sounds a lot more exciting than this year's schedule

Too bad for the franchise. What are the motivations to play in this non hockey environment besides heat and sun ?

It's less likely, but it still happens a lot. Look at Boston and Toronto.

Human nature is entertaining. At least Happy admitted the real problem (I hate change).

It wouldn't matter what arrangement was made it would be %^^&*(^ about by all kinds of people. You can't make a clean East West set up because there isn't one. The playoff imbalance is annoying but likely intentional because they probably want to grow the game in the west which is what needs to happen.

As long as the Habs take care of their own business the format will not affect them. Being a playoff bubble team is nothing to aspire to and thankfully we're past that stage.

Relax and enjoy it. ^&*^(%^&* about it won't change anything but your blood pressure.

It's hard to grow a brand that way. Yes, we don't give a **** about CBJ as Habs fans, but the league has to look out for all 30 teams.

Honestly, yes the % of making the playoffs is higher in the West, but the bottom line is if you can't be one of the 8 best teams in a pool of 16 instead of the current 15, you shouldn't be whining about missing the playoffs - you aren't a team to be taken seriously anyway if you can't be in the top half of a group of 16.
Thank you. This is what I came to post.
