Eagles announce deals with CB Cary Williams and S Kenny Phillips. If Phillips could stay healthy could be a 1-yr steal

Wow. I like it. Chung and Phillips is 1000000000x bettter than Allen and Coleman.

Wasn't Williams the guy that shoved the ref during the Super Bowl? Anyway, pretty good signings.

Williams and Phillips aren't bad signings. That secondary sucked so bad last year.

the birds could have put a pylon at safety and it still would have been more productive than Coleman and Allen.

Phillips has massive upside. Very low risk. Still young enough to overcome some of these unrelated injuries and become an excellent safety.

I'm realistically happy with anything better than that secondary last year. And it doesn't take much to be better. Can't wait for the draft though.

I wonder how much money they have left to spend. I'm hoping they have a good draft and I'll be excited about next season. I'm really curious to see what they do with the 4th pick.

Yeah I heard that too. Apparently he was really impressive at his pro day. I don't really want them to draft him with the 4th pick but it sounds like they have no other choice. I don't think they can trade down and get him because there are other teams in the top 10 that are interested.

They have a lot of cap left. For the fourth pick I hope they go o-tackle or de/olb. Draft a QB next year.

Here's the possible starting D thus far:

Cox-Sopoaga-Cole
Graham-Kendricks-Ryans-Barwin
Williams-Phillips-Chung-Fletcher

Where is Fletcher Cox? You don't think he'll be starting? I don't really know much about D-Line, but I assumed Cox would be moving to DE with the switch to 3-4.

Can't possibly be worse than last year. Hopefully, the offensive schemes will emphasize the strengths of what we have now, because I don't foresee any other major moves on that side of the ball. So much D added in free agency; I wonder how this affects the draft strategy?

Not sure I like Kendricks in the middle there, taking on OL regularly, but we'll see what happens.

I hope we take a chance on the honey badger at the draft...2nd/3rd round maybe.

Ideally, where Kendricks would play, he would be protected by space eaters up front to allow him to play sideline to sideline which is to his strength. He played inside in the 3-4 at Cal and was very effective, so it's not like he's completely foreign to the scheme.

Cole isn't playing the 5 technique in a 3-4. He's either playing OLB or will be playing elsewhere.

I don't trust him in pass coverage though, he has barely covered anyone the past 7 years.

We'll see what happens though, a lot of offseason is left.

That's why I said it's either LB or he'll get traded. He would have been a really good fit 8 years ago when he was drafted, but that was 40 pounds or so ago. I hope they trade him now while he has some value, but's it's going to be hard with his salary and sub par performance last year.

I think it's almost a guarantee the Eagles will select an offensive tackle @ 4. Peters is coming off a serious injury and is aging while there isn't another true starter on the roster.

Select Luke Joeckel, Eric Fischer, or Lane Johnson, whichever, and move them to RT if Peters is good to go.

Peters-Mathis-Kelce-Herremans-4th pick
Maclin-Jackson-Celek
Casey-McCoy
Vick
