Lewis is a great signing for the Saints. He was the best player on the Steelers last year outside of Heath Miller. It took him a few years to figure things out but he is hugely underrated and should work out well in New Orleans. Mad we let him go.
As a Colts fan im generally okay with every move they've done, except that dreadful Walden pickup. Yes, they overpaid virtually all of their acquisitions but its hardly significant in the long run (other than to Irsay's wallet). Most of these contracts are front loaded so they won't hinder the team in re signing all their young talent in a few years. Plus the team needed to spend 30 mill just to reach the cap floor. Now the team can walk into the draft and not have to shop excessively for need but can instead build towards long term growth and grab the BPA.
The Walden signing is atrocious though, at least the other players were half decent in performance.
RJF is a good depth guy but 5 mil a year? Holy ****. I never as a 49er fan thought he'd get that.
Sounds like there was a pretty big market for the guy, being able to play all three spots on a 3-4.
Grigson seems to be really banking on upside with a lot of these signings. I don't think any are for guys over 28, but other than Landry and Cherilus, none have proven too much. Seems to be hope guys like Thomas and RJF can go from great reserves to quality starters. The Walden one still seems puzzling, though.
