I don't see how Richards is more overpaid than Yashin.
Richards does get $200,000 more than Yashin. However, he's grown into a strong playoff performer, put up very strong numbers, and is only 26 compared to a 32 year old Yashin, who has considerably dropped in production.
I agree completely. Obviously Richards is not the greatest investment at 7.8 million but he is also an elite player who in my mind, is possibly a top 10 player in the league, which makes it at least reasonable to be paying him such a high number. Yashin on the other hand is nowhere near the player Richards is and his production has been dropping and dropping of recent years. That said, Yashin should be the unanimous choice for overpaid while I'll say Lundqvist is underpaid.
