Honestly, I put 0 stock into anything Bryz says in an interview. Translation issues, quirkiness, I think he doesn't mean half of the the way we interpret it.

Goalie is the most unpredictable position in sports.

Look at bob And QUick this year.

bob is 9th in save perccentage and has the 2nd highest shootout sv percentage.

Quick has worst numbers then bryz this year.

In general, this has been a completely unexpected year for most teams and players.

Quick came off of major back surgery and likely wouldn't have even played until January had the season started on time.

The question with Quick is whether or not he'll ever be as consistent as he was prior to the surgery.

Plus he has a longer and higher cap hit than Bryz.

I honestly didn't know that Quick had surgery this summer. That might hurt our chances at acquiring Bernier for those who want him.

I agree with what you say. I think overall this season Bobrovsky has been better, though not by much. But the problem is we didn't get Bryzgalov to be slightly worse than Bobrovsky. Taking nothing away from the latter, of course.

Can't see them amnestying Quick the off-season before (or the offseason after) his extension kicks in.

Also can't see them paying two #1 goalies, which is what they'd have to do to keep Bernier long-term. I still expect him to be dealt / offersheeted.

They won't give Bernier #1 money in the short term so they can afford to see what's up with Quick. Then they can make a proper decision. They're in no rush

L.A is definitely gonna have to get rid of him but you know they'll try to rrape us. maybe we can tell them how great gagne is again. like this time, he's unbelievable. we didn't suffer through this crappy season to give up on couturier or schenn. couturier will be back and i think he'll be one of the best players in flyers history. HISTORY! that's right, i'm completely insane.

I rather go with Schneider over Bernier to be honest. He's at least proved more than Bernier at this point.

If the price is the same, sure I'm with you there. But I don't think the prices for those two guys are going to be the same. If it means not sending anything other than a nice pick their way, I'll take Bernier over Schneider. I think Schneider's a really good goalie but Berniers no slouch.

I'm not sure what the thinking is when someone said they think the Kings will try to take us to the cleaners for Bernier. Is this just because you think they value him very highly, or because you think they would be out to stick it to the Flyers?

Watched Jets vs Rags, Bryz isn't even close to other NHL Goalies. ****ing depressing. Both goalies made numerous huge saves.

I will say this in Bryz's defense, though. Even though he's not playing like an elite goalie, given his play as it stands, if the rest of the team performed as they should (not overachieve, just play to their standard) we would've been higher in the standings.

Sorry Bryz, its not all your fault but you don't help. His contract is awful, it's a mistake if they don't amnesty him next summer. I don't want him or his cap hit for 7 more years, not a chance.

Did anyone see the highlights of the Columbus game tonight? Bob had some unreal saves. Makes me so frustrated why did we ever give this guy up

I don't know, I just never found Bernier to be any good. I'm not saying he's terrible, but I don't see him as starter material and think he's very overrated. Now I don't care whether someone is overrated or not in and of itself, but I just think that not only would he not be the solution, but we'd overpay him either in salary or pieces moved for him.

At what price would you consider Bernier overpaid? Like if we offersheeted Bernier @ 3M per year for 3 years on an offersheet, would you consider that overpaying him? That would require a 2nd round draft pick in 2014 as compensation, and it might be tough for LA to match that for a backup goalie.

I wouldn't mind that. I'm still not sold on him though.

I would take him on this team. Maybe hes not a bonafide starter material yet but hes still young where I would trade for him. if we had a guy like Bernier here we wouldnt be playing Bryz a billion games in a row because nobody trusts our backup goalies right now(and rightfully so)

We had a guy like Bernier, his name was Bob.

But Bryz and people used him as an excuse for Bryz's poor play last year.

You know what. Screw it. I'm for anything but trading Giroux that gets this guy out from between the pipes.

We'd trade away prospects/players for Bernier/Schneider, but then I have to ask, who will be our back up? If I ever wanted a back up, it would probably be Emery or Biron.
