Powerforwards/tall-lanky guys typically take longer to develop. Perhaps Matthias will be a late-bloomer ala Jokinen and some of those other similar types. He's got some serious skill and he showed it in Jrs. Also has a ridiculous shot. If we continue to be patient, he could surprise some.

You mean "shore can't score?". Ya it's bothering me too, he doesn't have an accurate shot, he just shoots it.

Had that been, say Crosby.. I think you'll get the picture.

It was interesting to hear he went to see a sports psychologist to overcome some mental boundaries. It's not something you usually hear about in an interveiw.

Just the fact that a player that started the season in the AHL is now on the top line and is one of the rookie leaders in assists makes me not worry about Shore. He is getting the shots and the goals will come! In the meantime let him keep setting up Hubs.

Huberdeau gets tossed around every game and I have yet to see anyone stand up for him. Of course I don't expect Parros to beat the hell out of Hamilton but someone needs to stand up for the only star we have and make their prescence known.

Bettman on re-alignemnt plan for our new division:

Division C has four Original Six franchises: the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. The Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning are also in the division.

Commissioner Bettman said he thinks being in this division will benefit the Panthers and Lighting despite the added travel.

"From a business standpoint, I think this is probably really good for both Florida teams," he said. "Competitively they may have their own issues, travel-wise they may have issues, but based on where Florida is from a geographic standpoint whatever we did wasn't going to be perfect.

"But our commitment in that regard is when we're doing the scheduling we're going to try and do the best possible job of focusing on the travel needs of the two Florida clubs and with respect to the teams in their division and their travel to and from Florida."

Bascially we got screwed with the most travel time and are in this division to bring more attention to hockey in Florida. They could have easily swapped out Philly and Pittsburgh putting them in division C and put us in division D.

I don't like this new re-alignement at all. What's wrong with the current form, just switch Detroit/Columbus to East and Winnipeg to West.
