We come back make it 5-4 and it is going to end up 7-4. It wasn't as bad as the score is going to look. I was expecting a loss but not this way

Well, we are still in the race. There are still several games to go. Until next time.

One of those nights were you played well enough to win, but the few mistakes made were horrible mistakes and cost a goal each time.

Hannan had his worst game as a Pred, he was beyond bad. Ellis cannot play that aggressive with Hannan as his partner, he has to have a good stay at home guy to do that, Hannan is not good.

Halishuk, Smith and Spaling all with good games.

Legwand was decent

Fisher, was decent regardless of the hate on here.

Sk was not very good

Erat was beyond bad.

The rest, I didn't notice much.

We can't blame the offense on this loss it is on the defense this time. Mainly Hannan and Ellis. Ellis was -4 and Hannan -3. Klein and Barkley were plus 2. The team didn't give up though and I give them credit for that.

I'm not going to put too much on Ellis. The face-off goal was deflected in by Hannan. He did slide the goal in but he was recovering from Hannan getting beat and falling down.

the first play he pinched to hold the puck in and got back to control the 2nd winger, Hannan didn't close the gap and allowed an easy pass to the 3rd forward in..

Ellis last - was at the end of the game, I do believe.

All and all, Ellis just wasn't strong enough to cover for Hannan falling down, just being slow, with no gap control.

Tuned in just in time to see us come back, and then blow it.

Nice work by Butler to create that 4th goal. Unfortunately he won't get an assist on that because Vancouver very briefly had possession. Definitely deserves a point for it though.

2nd in offensive ice time behind Erat. -2 for the night 4SOG one of which was a big flub. He reminds me of Annti Philstrom alot of potential and history but can't get it done with the big team.

Your dislike of Smith is getting out of hand. There is no way in hades Smith and Pihlstrom are even close to comparable. Completely different players. We have so few players that can create offensive chances we have to keep putting these young guys with skill out there and hope they can figure out the NHL. We all know this is a semi-transitional season for this team. I think we keep forgetting this is the 27th or 28th game? This is Smith's sophomore season. He entered the NHL on fire but has cooled off and struggled to find his offensive game since then I'll grant you that but there is a reason there is a thing called a sophomore slump. Many young players take a few seasons to truly become comfortable. This is a team starved for talent so when you have a young skilled guy like Smith you have to put him in successful situations and be patient.

Out of hand just about as much as the folks that keep preaching hes a top 6 guy. A few facts Smith is 23 played two years of college hockey ( which is not the best option to develop players) He played 0 time in the AHL he was selected 4th round 98th overall. He had 36 points as a rookie that got everyone all horny here that hes the next Hart trophy winner. He has failed miserablly this year, it does not matter that the rest of the top forwards have been poor were talking about a guy thats way over his head and will most likley be out of hockey in two years. I think my evaluation of him his skill and longevity in the league is alot closer than anyone weho thinks hes a top 6 guy.

Erat is going beyond slump, he's actively hurting the team.

Yip may not be good, may not contribute, but he doesn't have a negative impact. The same cant be said of Erat, but Trotz won't sit an A or any other veteran.
