I honestly think Jagr has to earn his place on the shootout. He really didnt show me that much last year..i mean 2-8 was pretty bad and all his stick issues. With our lineup we have players that can be better in shootouts. I do, however, understand the need to be happy and im sure Jaromir would not be happy at all if he was not on the shootout lineup.
All those minutes plus his ice time in OT, I think Jagr was just beat come shootout time.
Maybe with an effective second line, he'll have more left in reserve for shootouts this year.
Cullen has got to be on the top 3, he scored 6 outta the 9 times he was up last year.
Shanny only shot once in a SO and didnt score.
Im looking at:
1) Cullen (6/9 last season)
2) Nylander (5/11 last season)
3) Jagr (2/8 last season)
4) Prucha (2/5 last season...could replace him with Jagr)
5) Shanny (0/1 last season, should do better then straka)
6) Straka (1/5 last season)
Flyline's got it correct. While Shanny was only in the shootout once apparently, he's deadly on a breakaway. Look at his goal highlights from the highlight thread. Not to mention there's gotta be alittle bit of an intimidation factor. While he's never been at the level of "the great one", much like Jagr he's respected as a threat by every goalie I'm sure.
There's a first time for everything oh boy would that piss off all the nonranger fans and for kicks Jessiman wins the calder trophy and art ross if there even was a minimal chance of that happening it would be so sweet haha and I would be such a pain in the *** to every nonranger fan
Cullen - good to start with off strong if possible.
Nylander - secret weapon. I watch the Malik shootout all the time just for S's and giggles and his move comboed with the slow speed is nasty.
Jagr - It's Jagr.
Although Jagr didn't do too great in the SO last year, I think you still have to give him the opportunity. I mean it's Jagr for crying out loud. Other than that I would go with Cullen because all the Carolina fans say that he's money in the SO, and I would like to see Prucha as a regular Shoot Out-er.
