Goal Song

I had no idea there was a new goal song and when I heard, "Gold on the Ceiling" tonight I jumped out of my seat!!! Absolutely love that song and The Black Keys in general.

IMO its a great goal song, here it is if you dont know it:

Big improvement IMO. I remember people wanting this song last year too. We really need to stick to one goal song though, this is getting beyond hilarious at this point.

It's pretty good

I don't usually like hipster rock, but it's pretty good

I like Green day but this is just as good. Better than Cluch - Electric worry

It's better.

But i still long for a return to 'Holiday'. There are just too many good memories tied to that goal song, and the energy it seemed to provide. But hey, let's be trendy instead and go with something hipstery. Cool.

And whoever said that they're "hipster" rock

You could barely hear it on the TV. I like Black Keys and everything but it's not really goal song material. Doesn't really pump you up or anything.

Just because the Black Keys have hit it big, doesn't mean they're not 'hipstery' rock. Hipsterism is mainstream now, especially in Vancouver.

Agreed. I recognized that is was 'different'. But i really couldn't place what exactly it was, on TV at least.

I'll take some credit for this. I've been ripping the hell out of dj dave on twitter and cdc for quite some time for him to get rid of electric worry.

My fave goal songs are song 2 by blur, rock'n roll part 2 and doop, but I am quite content with Gold on the Ceiling as our goal song. It sounded great tonight. I always knew that electric worry song was cursed.

I still think this would be a great goal song.

Great song, HUGE improvement over "Vamanos, vamonos!"

Although I do agree about the intensity. Something with more intensity such as Airbourne's 'Runnin' Wild' might fit better, if only it wasn't attached to the hip to EA's NHL 09 game (BTW, that game had an awesome soundtrack.)

Once something becomes mainstream, it's no longer hip.

This exactly.

I could barely hear it, listening to it now on Youtube sounds like a good song but I don't think it makes for a good goal song, just doesn't get you pumped up.

I want to bring back Holiday, I am kinda biased cause it was once my favorite song when American Idiot came out but I think it is better.

I actually agree with the others, I would like Airbourne - Runnin' Wild aswell.

It didn't sound like there were any words included, if that makes it any better. Like the Holiday song without it's words, it's just better.

Hey guys.

So tonight (vs. Nashville) we're going to fly a new attempt at a goal song.

Over the past almost 2 seasons, we've been using "Electric Worry" by Clutch. This song certainly is original (we're the only pro sports team using it) and it was met with some initial mixed feelings, yet has caught on rather well.

That said, and as I said back when we started playing it, it is good, but perhaps not the BE ALL AND END ALL of goal songs.

So keep your ears peeled tonight, and let me know what you think.

DJD
DJDave posted this on CDC.

If it means scoring 7 goals, let's keep it. Although I think in general the NHL goes a little heavy on the Black Keys.

I really do like it, though.

Not a fan of the above "Runnin Wild", though.

Clutch has grown on me, though. It's certainly a lot more distinctive.

Judging by the fact that in the year 2013 we are just now latching onto a Black Keys song as the goal song...

I would say Vancouver may be a little bit slow on the uptake with the hipster thing. It's like recycled hipsterism. The worst kind.

Hard to imagine there isn't a better goal song out there...

Trololol.

I'm still torn on whether or not we should go for a trolling goal song or simply a pump-up goal song.

Vancouver definitely seems to be behind the times when it comes to music
