Tor/van

To Toronto: Alexander Edler
To Vancouver: Phil Kessel

I'll get straight to the point, Vancouver gets some scoring help which they could use right now, Toronto gets a dman that can play with Phaneuf.

Flame away!

No from the Canucks. Edler is our only decent offensive defenseman.

I'm one of the Canucks fans most willing to move Edler. This isn't a trade I'd do though.

Bad deal for both sides.

Teams generally overvalue their top players, so any deal involving them must fill huge needs for both teams.

It's not bad from a value perspective. I don't think Canucks can compete without Edler. Some fans think we can, likely the same fans that thought we wouldnt skip a beat when Ehrhoff left. We need Edler, and he has a NTC anyways.

Definitely a well thought-out, realistic and non-flamebait proposal that will solicit meaningful and polite interaction between Canucks and Leafs fans.

Yeah.

in what order do Vancouver fans rate their defenseman?

and why is Edler in trade proposals? i have seen him in a few lately

is he playing poorly?

wasn't he just signed to a long term deal?

This isnt as bad as most nucks fans are saying... A guy like Kessel would look real nice next to Kesler on the 2nd line. But it would be very confusing for the broadcaster, "Kessel to Kesler, back to Kessel..."

But in all seriousness I think the Nucks say no. I wont speak for the Leafs but I think it leaves too big of a hole on the Vancouver defence.

Theoretically yes, but in reality they wouldn't have worry about Kesler passing it to a winger

everyone complains about every Canuck on our board, Edler's expectations on our board in franchise quality (Weber, Pietro, Doughty) so it's easy for him to dissapoint

he is our best defenseman (tied with Hamhuis because Hammer is more consistent).

As for the deal, value may be fine, but we need centres and decent two way guys in our top 6

We mock Bieksa on a regular basis (Casual Kev) and have been slamming Hamhuis all year. We're just cynical. At the top of his game, Edler is a fantastic player who simply needs to work on his consistency issues.

I'd love Kessel but not for Edler.

Meh. The Leafs need to hang on to Kessel and try and get him signed to a decent, long term deal. I've liked the look of Gardiner, so there's no real need for Edler. Their biggest "problem" is still in net, but I'm guessing Nonis and Co don't see that.... nor do a lot of their fans.

They could be correct. From where I'm sitting, that's still their biggest weakness.

Honestly, the only deal that may happen with Toronto involves Luongo or Schneider.
