Basically, he's a tad undersized for the position (by NHL standards), but he's incredibly athletic and agile. Moves post to post as quick as any goalie in the league. Lots of highlight reel saves for that reason.

Just wanted to thank for your feedback and interesting comments. Is there any comparable NHL goalie with his size?
I saw him playing for EV Duisburg (Germany3) and Düsseldorfer EG (DEL) in 2010/2011, he was pretty good in Duisburg but couldn't impress on pro level so far. Check him out on elite prospects: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=42810
Here you can see what I just said: Great stats on junior level, not too good on pro level. But still, he is now 20 years old, had time to develop in NA and I think that some NHL team should risk to get him under contract before he decides to play in the DEL again.

I expect him sign with a team like Edmonton, Calgary or New Jersey, because they have bad goalie prospects so a prospect for "free" should be welcomed.
As much as he's been great for Barrie this season, and terrific for the U20 National Team in the past, he strikes me as more a long term starter in Germany, like Patrick Elechner.

Yeah, that could be the case as well but at least I hope that there is a team in the NHL that wants to have him. He's 20 so he can also start in the AHL. If he's good enough, he might become an NHLer and if not, he can still go back to Germany (like Dennis Endras, who could've made it in the NHL imo but didn't get a real chance in Minnesota. Could've been another Fasth if you'd seen what he did at the WC i.e.).

Yeah Endras is a real shame because he looks like an NHL caliber goalie to me, but timing and opportunity really are everything for mature goalies.
I guess it all comes down to Niederberger's desire to stick in North America. Honestly he's pretty similar in terms of impact at the OHL level to Phillip Grubauer, so I could see somebody giving him a shot in the minors. He just doesn't fit the mould of what most NHL goalies are these days. So hopefully somebody will give him a shot to be a backup in the Ahl or ECHL starter next season, and see where he goes.
But ultimately I feel he'll be a starter in Germany at the end of the day.
I have seen he play the past 2 years in Barrie. I love the way he plays. He never gives up. I am not sure about pro potential but I think a year in the AHL might show people what he can do as a pro.
Really hoping the winnipeg-barrie connection gets him here on a TC invite at least, all our other goalie prospects are NCAA so we should have room on the rock for him
I know he got invited to the Leafs prospect camp over the summer. I remember him being solid, but not exceptional. Don't see why a team wouldn't take a flyer on him though.
He will get an offer no doubt. I really hope Tampa trys to get him and let him develop as the #5 in the org, behind Lindbäck, his backup (Desjardins, Janus or a vet), Vasilevski and Helenius
I am very excited about how he will perform in the playoffs.
He had very good numbers in last year's playoffs (2.34 GAA and .933 SvPct.).
If he can get those same numbers again, maybe even improve them a little and make a deep playoff run with the Colts. He should get at least some consideration from NHL teams.
Although I remain a little skeptical about his future in North America, I am very pleased with his development so far. He surely did the right thing going to play in the OHL.
EDIT: In 4 games in Marc he has 4 wins, 1.24 GAA and .965 SvPct.
Bump, this guy has been tremendous for Barrie in the playoffs. 15-4, 2.27GAA, .936SV%. He's a big reason why they're one win away from winning the OHL championship. I have to think a team will take a flyer on him.
He outplayed Subban last round and he's outplaying Stolarz in this one. I'm hoping Philly has scouts watching Londons goalie cause they can't help but notice the guy at the other end stealing the show...again!
