Agreed. I recognized that is was 'different'. But i really couldn't place what exactly it was, on TV at least.
Jesus christ am I ever tired of hearing the term hipster.

God forbid somebody thinks for themselves.

You couldn't even hear the song on TV. And now that I listened it, that was a good thing. Never heard of this band before and will never hear again since it's not my type of music. Just your typical crappy NA hipster rock. Sorry for using these terms again but let's be reality here, that's what it sounds like. It has all the ingredients, lame sounding and simple guitars, dull vocals and mellow pace. Sounds like Sopranos theme song.

Still, you would think it's a major flaw for a "goal song" if you can't really hear it? I mean, it's not about the lack of volume either, it just doesn't really have anything in it to hear. There's nothing distinctive and energetic about it that catches the attention in few seconds.

I agree, though I despise Greenday so I will consider this better than the alternative that I thought we would get stuck with.

I love that. I also feel like it would get stuck in opposing players heads kind of like chelsea dagger.

Could anyone be kind enough to point out what part of the song they actually cut out for in-game version? I listened to it a couple times but there is no obvious "drop" where the song really picks up its intensity (at least not to the point i would expect for a goal song). The obvious answer is the chorus but as catchy as it may be, like many have said it doesn't really get you pumped.

Thought last night's goal song was a dramatic improvement. Never want to hear that God awful "bang bang" song again.

Hard to imagine there isn't a better goal song out there...
You mean the song that was released as a single in March 2012?

The new "new". Maybe we should pick a song from a band that doesn't exist yet.

That's why I've been trying to get it as the Canucks goal song for like 2 years (or since Fifa 12 came out so September 2011)..Zombotron has been one of the only ones to step up and show his support so thank you for that Zombo I sent DJ Dave ANOTHER long email last night, sent him a couple over the last year or so with no response...maybe he'll actually read/respond now that the goal song is being changed..

in case you didn't see Big Naissak (or Zombo), here's another mashup of the song/horn that my buddy did last year: https://soundcloud.com/gggggggg8/canucks-goal-song-2013

And a link to the whistling in the full song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGSudOJ0vkI#t=2m09s WITH the drum solo and crowd chant of: HEY.....HEY.....HEY after, which would be SO perfect for the crowd at Rogers Arena to get into the game...

e-mail DJ Dave if you like this as the goal song!

I just sent an email to him too requesting this song. I doubt he'll ever consider it but he should.

Black Keys isn't a trolling type or a pump up goal song.
