Positioning and defensive game, he needs work but he's very offensively gifted. He's still learning and from what I remember his team was a crummy one so those are very impressive numbers. I think his upside is very good IMO. The times I've seen this guy I only came out saying damn this guy has a good skill set.

Mackinnon, Drouin, or Jones

Who do we take first overall?

You counting on MLSE to finally get the league to rig the lottery for us ?

A very interesting question though. If we are going to reopen this discussion I take MacKinnon. In that situation I'd still say "please god give me the center!" That kind of skill and drive in a spot we've had vacant since Sundin would be outstanding. But I could see the argument with Jones. Plus it would be crazy to actually have a great core on defence.

We need MacKinnon too much to pass, unless our scouts believe Drouin is too good to pass on.

MacKinnon easily for me

I see the argument for Jones, and I wouldn't be unhappy either way.

From what I read about him, I really like this Lindholm kid. Though I haven't seen him play outside the WJC.

Leafs would now be drafting 18th

As we inch up the list our chances of drafting a #1C become more realistic to trade up

Wow, in a playoff spot and already have tank nation going on.

Would be nice to squeak in as 8th in the east, and be somewhere around 16th-18th in the league, assuming the West stays tight.

Get a 12-14 pick and get playoff hockey.

As much as we need a #1 center, I think a big-bodied top pairing RH defender is our most pressing need. Jones would be perfect, Ristolainen would be a nice consolation prize...as would Pulock.

Perhaps confused by the chart showing where the Leafs would draft based on points per game and regulation and overtime wins.

Based on that criteria Leafs could draft higher, but of course non-playoffs teams draft 1-14 and then the other teams are seeded based on playoffs results and regular season finish.

SO if we get into a slump what will it take us to get into the 1-5 range?

5th last is at 25 points 6 points behind us so we would need to lose probably another 5-6 in a row to get into that position and then stay there.

Tim McGauley, Nick Paul, Laurent Dauphin. Three guys I'd love to grab after the 1st round. From all three junior leagues

I hope we can trade up and get Ryan Pulock...great offensive D with a huge shot and I am pretty sure he's an RD..so he could be with Phaneuf, Rielly, Gardiner

If we lose a few more games we will be drafting somewhere 10th-15th

With the certainty that Liles & a forward gets dealt for a very good draft choice we should be able to move up in the draft a few spots to maybe 7-10th
