Steckel is awful. Glad to get a 7th round pick for him.

What's up with Steckel's FO%'s? this year? usually he's amongst the best in the league.
If he can come close to that level, this will be a nice add for ANA, we need guys who can win faceoffs, and the size is welcome

Whoa. I mean, I know he's terrible, but bad at faceoffs now too? Wow.

And hilariously improbable OT winners.

If there's anyone to get Steckel back to being not useless, it's Boudreau.

He's at 46%. He has been terrible. Glad we got something for him because we wasted a 4th on him 2 years ago.

Only marginally better than Kadri at faceoffs. Not even 50%.

I'm okay with the trade but just one question. Did the Leafs take a dump in all the other team's coffee that they only seem to trade with Anaheim?

I'm not sure. If he does, I think the problem was with Norfolk, not necessarily with him.

Don't listen to this guy, Steckel had a wrist injury from blocking a shot last season, took him the first 7 games to get back to being a faceoff machine. His skating has also come a long way. Just like Brown, I hate to see him go but it came down to the numbers.

Being painfully honest - He really adds nothing but being decent on the draw. There were times when he would play on the PK this year, and unless he won the FO and got off; teams were in for a easy cycle. His foot speed is quite bad....But the low risk isn't much to worry about and generally with these trades players seem to step up.

Not ripping into him, he is a decent 4th liner if you are looking for just that. He tries hard and can be affective on the dump and chase, but overall if a coach keeps him off the ice and restricts him to FOs only...he will do his job.

Didn't Lasch get re-assigned to the SEL? or did he come back?

Went and checked the FO numbers, has only taken 81.
small sample size, not worried that he can't return close to his usual %'s

Not a fan of the value coming the Leafs way, undersized player who probably can't crack the Marlies and a 7th rounder for an NHL player.

Steckel is useless and he's redundant with Mcclement who provides us what you actually expect from a bottom 6 player. Steckel literally contributes nothing. His role in the NHL is face offs, which he sucked at this year.

Needed to clear roster space to allow Lupul to come back. Simple as that.

Steckel goes to a place where he isn't redundant, and likely more ice time will see his FO stats go back up, we clear a spot and really the value coming back isn't as important as the roster space.

Thanks for your service Steckel, good luck in the future.

Isn't Lasch's potential a bit high to be trading him for a 4th liner?

Who sit now with Lupul back in the lineup Orr or Mac?

I understand why we made the trade, it's disappointing to not get proper value, regardless.

Orr and McLaren take turns except against teams like Boston

Steckel was acquired for something like a 5th round pick a couple of years ago. What were people expecting this time around?

Not really. He also had virtually no chance of making the Ducks without running the tables in the 'A'. It would only have gotten worse with another season.

Question for Leafs fans. If Lupul doesn't add the firepower you guys expect him to add (cause I believe it'll take him at least 3 games to adjust to the speed again.) would you guys start to panic a bit of you continue to slide? Is this year a "We have to make it" year on your beliefs?

I ask because I want to see if Nonis actually is going to make a big deal which was biggest issue here in Vancouver while he was GM. These minor trades were exactly what got him fired in the first place.

Oh and drafting this guy:

No one deserves that bad of a pick let a lone a draft year.
