Yeah I like how Columbus is being built.

If they can keep building the players they hAve, and prospects like Moore, Erixon, Murray, Savard among others make big pushes for roster spots + their 3 first rounders this upcoming draft they'll have a really good foundation.

Moving to the East helps heir fanbase too. Happy it's looking to be coming together for them.

I'd be happy of they got both Mackinnon and Drouin (although they are playing themselves out of contention lately).

it'd be sad if they managed to play themselves out of both, they badly need some high end talent. with their fairly decent group of support players and bobrovsky's solid play i could see them just middling away in the mediocre 10th-14th group in the following years if they miss out on a great player in this draft.

True

He deserves some credit but even the good haul on Nash trade was tainted by fact the GM was one who spilled the beans on Nash wanting out and hurt himself in trade talks

It was also Howson that continued to believe in Steve Mason which has been holding back team for last few years

From the highlights, looks like Fleury stole the game for the Pens.

Buffalo told him to get lost on Ott - apparently.

I heard the Roy stuff too. I am not sold on Roy. I bet he'd cost a decent prospect and pick............

The Rangers had a great year last year with everyone blocking shots. How many years do guys want to take that kind of physical abuse? The forwards aren't scoring and Lundqvist is having an off year.
I honestly think Tortorella's expiry date has come and gone with that team.

Not bad

I wonder if Raymond found his contract comparable...

I would do 3.5 for 4 years with Raymond...

Deharnais has been their 1C since at least last year.

Different roles.

Question: why has Alexander Ovechkin's offensive zone start % gone from 58% when he was scoring 60 goals to 52-53% the last few seasons? Why do they have a center that's scored 100+ points taking 45% of O zone starts (Backstrom) while Ribeiro is getting the highest o-zone starts on the team outside of MoJo?

I know Ribeiro has been good this year, but all of this seems like really dumb utilization by the Capitals. If I had Ovechkin on my team he'd start in the offensive zone 60+% of the time.

His on-ice SH% has dropped from 12-14% to 10%. That's still good, but his zone utilization and linemate usage is baffling. If Ovechkin has lost anything at all, it's his ability to explode into the zone and beat a guy to score a goal. He's still a great shooter that pounces on loose pucks, and the Capitals are using him in a way that magnifies his deficiencies and doesn't maximize his outrageous talents.

What a dumb team.

Oates was a better player than he is a coach.

It's been a slow regression of his zone starts for the past four seasons, though, so it started under Boudreau and continued under each successive coach.

That's bizarre.

Bruins fans on the main board talking about a Marchand-Seguin-Bergeron line for Team Canada 2014.

Lolno. If Burrows can't make it neither can Marchand.

Oh lawd. If Marchand was on the Olympic team I might have to cheer for the US.

edit: Oh lawd! That means Dustin Brown! **** it I'll cheer for Sweden.

Just checked the standings and had a good laugh when I saw Toronto quickly falling out of playoff position.

Can you imagine them collapsing again? So close, yet so, so far.

too bad they won't get a high draft pick when they need a number 1 center still, can't win without one

This just in: Washington is going to try Aaron Volpatti with Backstrom and Ovechkin in Washington.

Someone please just fire George McPhee already.
