confirm. Nice working with you, Habs.

Looking to snag a guy I don't think will make it another 11 picks.

The Colorado Avalanche are proud to select, from The Guelph Storm...

Justin Auger!

An overager (a huge one, at that), he's a hefty power-forward with some good speed and offensive skill. He definitely made the most of having an extra year to show off what he's got, and our scouts noticed. He's a low risk, high reward player, as with his size and speed, he'll be at worst a good 4th line energy checker, with the potential to be a top power-forward in the league. We're very happy to have added Justin to the Avalanche.

Quote:
Auger is a personal favorite of mine. Itís not often that you see players with his combination of size, mobility and puck skills. He is a good skater who shows above average acceleration and mobility for his size. When he is confident and assertive, he has the ability to generate offense off of the rush. His progression throughout the year has been interesting, and he should be a mid to late round NLH Draft selection.
Draft Results
Round 1 (8th) - Nikita Zadorov, Defender
Round 2 (38th) - Pavel Buchnevich, Right Winger
Round 3 (69th) - Eric Roy, Defender
Round 3 (89th) - Justin Auger, Right Winger
Round 5 (129th) -

Almost.

I would've liked to snag Cammer, but I figured it wasn't going to happen.

I probably didn't need to trade up at all, but I had a gut feeling he'd be gone by 99. Really like this kid, and his size is obviously something that stands out.

I honestly do not understand why you traded up. I mean Auger was selected 141st last draft and I guess it is safe to say you would have gotten him at 99...

Gut feeling. Honestly don't know why, but something told me to.

Whatever, even if I didn't need to, I didn't lose much.

so many suprises in this draft. Where does all this love for Auger suddenly comes from?

I was thinking the same thing. Can somebody fill me in on him. He wasn't on my radar.

I think it has to do with his size. I was intrigued by it as well. Haven't seen anything on him, but it's hard to ignore when you're going through prospects and you see a 6'7" Forward.

Do we have a list for Yandle? He was on earlier but I don't think he realized he was up to pick. We were doing so well yesterday and now we're back to the slow crawl

I'll be gone for about an hour or so, i'll update the board when I get home. Im following everything on my phone, and if my pick comes up I can do it, but its just too much to try and do the board on such a small screen.

Winnipeg is up.

with the 91st pick overall, the are proud to select....From The Kelowna Rockets of the WHL.....Mitchell Wheaton

Scouting Report:Big stay-at-home defenseman who chose the Rockets over many U.S.University scholarships he was offered. Wants to be a hockey player and will work hard and improving all parts of his game. Already over 225 pounds. Will need to continue gaining quickness and strength but looks like a very good long-term project.

2013 draft picks
1st (10th) Valeri Nichushkin RW
2nd (40th) Jimmy Lodge C
2nd (59th) Emile Poirier LW
2nd (61st) Spencer Martin G
3rd (71st) Dillon Heatherington D
3rd (81st) Mitchell Wheaton D
