Joensuu tomorrow night? Or McDonald if he's feeling better, I guess.

Not good! I think they have to bring up one of the younger guys now.

Reasoner, Boulton, Aucoin, and ? in your lineup is not even close to good.....

That sucks he looked like he was in serious pain.. As for his replacement...

#Isles practice at 12:30 today. Will know more about Ullstrom then. Wouldn't expect a call-up though -- Joensuu likely ready for tomorrow.

Moulson Tavares Boyes
Bailey Nielsen Okposo
Martin Cizikas McDonald
Boulton Reasoner Aucoin

Grabner - inj
Joensuu - ?
McDonald - sick?

If McDonald isn't ready then I think Joensuu gets a shot.

I'd opt to get JJ into some BP games for conditioning. He hasn't played all year and hasn't played in the NHL for a long time.

But that makes too much sense.

Nelson/Nino have been the best forwards in the AHL. They have probably earned a shot (agent comments notwithstanding).

That's what they're there for. I say CALL THEM UP.

Moulson - Tavares - Bailey
Cizikas - Nelson - Boyes
Niederreiter - Nielsen - Okposo
Martin - Reasoner - Aucoin/Boulton

Anyone have a video of the play where he was injured? I was at the game and must have missed it.

dam...this means we are stuck keeping either Aucoin and Boulton for sure cause even if we play Joensuu and McDonald, we still need one of these guys

Honestly I don't understand why they brought JJ on the trip. They should have sent him to Bridgeport on a conditioning assignment and brought in Persson. JJ can easily slip into the top 6 in BPT and we would be okay in a case of injury. He would get to play 3 games this weekend and get quality minutes.

But now we are almost forced to throw him into an NHL fast paced game in which he may not be accustomed to. Bad decision there by the Isles.

Why not bring up Nino? He will be more conditioned then Joensuu. I wonder if this is a little jab at Nino for pulling that crap earlier in the year.

He was just skating hard up center ice and went down on one knee awkwardly, don't think anything touched him. Groin just got pulled. Ouch.

and he did look good last night.

We FINALLY got rid of one lockerroom issue when we brought Poulin up, and we're winning. Now we cannot, simply CANNOT have Nino come up, underwhelm and have any semblance of a reward for his childishness. I don't want him up until he's CLEARLY grown up.

Plus for a temp callup until Grabner's ready, I like the Persson idea, as well.

But remember, Snow's drive for Stanley Cup #5 this year has us with several benched players every game. We might not need to call anyone up unless there are several injuries.

JJ will be fine by accounts.

Plane ticket costs more than a ride on the Ferry. They'll wait till they get back to NY.

I only see them making call-ups if a wave of injuries hits the team and they run out of players on the current NHL roster who can take the ice. Either that or they're out of the playoff race and they've dealt off a bunch of guys at the deadline.

Aucoin was a nice story to start the season. However, you could clearly see last night how outmatched the man gets physically shift after shift. Knowing this is whom the Islanders will most likely use in place of Ullstrom crushes me.

another injury, you have to wonder? The most physical guy on the team #17 leads the league in hits throwing his body around like a bean bag, gets hit in the head/chest with pucks, fights the works and keeps playing day in day out doing the same stuff everyday...bing bang boom
then we got other guys who break a nail and out for 10 days?
Injuries happen for sure...seems some are too young for these types of injuries..the old guys maybe
This injury thing cost the last trainer his job didn't it?

Not sure that this is not a case of more guys getting injured cause they will not play tough and pull their pee-pee's etc. Hamstrings possibly groins are getting pulled putting bodys in escape mode from hits...Take the hit you would be suprised you might like it.

It looked more like a freak injury related to the ice which was crappy. We had a defenseman who caught an edge on crap ice and sprained everything on the high ankle. It sucks when it happens.

This post makes me wonder, how familiar are you with Ullstrom's game? He doesn't mind physical contact at all, and has the body/frame to take hits. Not only does he not mind contact, its actually one if his better qualities (being able to take contact and retain possession of the puck, or win possession of puck via physical battles.

The guy blew a tire skating while he was all alone and nobody around. I'm thoroughly confused by this post.

You train hard, you put all out effort out there....a groin injury can happen easily. Especially on cr**py ice.
