On the pre-game show, Panaccio said that if the Flyers find themselves out of the playoffs in the next couple weeks, they should focus on trading their 1st round pick for a young defenseman like Ryan Whitney.

I'm not making that up.

I never heard the words "star defensemen" and "Ryan Whitney" used in the same sentence until today.

Do you think that's a point he actually spent time thinking about, or do you think he had to say anything at all and utterly choked?

Trading our first for Ryan Whitney is worse than when we traded our first for Steve Emminger.

He bunched Whitney, OEL, and Shattenkirk together. Unreal.

I also liked how he said if they find themselves out of it, they should focus on the draft... then immediately talked about trading the pick.

He was stuttering when he said it but still there's no other player with a name close to that.

Seriously it's his job to know the sport and he doesn't. At all. What is he getting paid for? To misspell words and provide terrible opinions? He's an astonishingly bad representation of our team and needs to be fired.

I think Coburn is a #3, Schenn is now a #4/#5 but will be a good #3 IMO, Timmonen is a solid #2, Grossman is around a #4 right now IMO.

I think Gardiner is the type of guy you should be after. Seldom does a young D of his potential, or better, become available.

Actually, Schenn and Grossmann have been absolute beasts this year. They aren't a #4 and a #4/5. You're selling them way short.

I think the flyers need to fire Holmgren IMMEDIATELY and hire this guy

That is one of the worst ideas I have heard involving out 1st rounder this year. If we could trade our 1st for OEL, it should already be done. To lump Whitney with Shattenkirk, let alone OEL, is hilariously dumb. How he is still considered a Flyers "insider?"

He means well. Seriously. Hell, most the Flyer fans I know don't even know who OEL is-- or any other team's roster, especially in the West.

OEL was given a 6 year extension. Might as well cross him off the list.

Both have been poor in the transition game. Neither is a good #1 or #2. Coburn has also fell flat in moving the puck this year.

I never said they were a #1. Either one has played like a #2/3. Not like a #4/5 as was claimed.
