I used to cheer for Toronto in the Quinn era when the B's were eliminated.

This is a no-brainah!

Here's the question that keeps me up at night....

Bruins are tied with team X for final playoff spot. Team X plays Mtl in the final game of the season. If Mtl wins B's make the playoffs. Can you root for them?

No. You can just turn off the TV, drink, and check the standings afterwards.

Also 27...Father is a Canadian and grew up in Ontario so is clearly a Leaf fan....Grew up liking TO in West, BOS in East..

Felix Potvin was my favorite all time goalie (Was obv really pumped when we got him) But since they moved Potvin, and moved East I haven't really liked them since..

I liked Gilmour, Anderchyuk, Clarke when he didnt play us obv..I liked a few of their guys back then..

I liked that 93 team a lot....That whole Gretz thing ****ed them over....They could of won that series and would of made for an epic SCF...Too bad..

I don't like the Leafs whatsoever (they're probably one of my least favorite teams), but this isn't even close. Leafs all day every day. The Habs are and always will be scum. God, I hate that team.

How is this even a question? I actually like the Leafs, I like that they hate the Habs as much as we do.

The ones who didnt either cheer against division rivals or wanted the cup back in canada. But obviously you guys did play montreal in the first round that year so a lot of us started off cheering for you that playoffs and just never stopped. Also like you mentioned (and this was my personal reason for cheering for you), a lot of us knew what the canucks stood for. I still cringe to think what would have happened if they won the cup with THAT kind of team, inevitably inspiring the hockey world to copy them.

Plus the bruins were basically what the leafs wanted to be at the time; pugnacity, testosterone, belligerence, truculence. Brian Burke basically wanted to mold the leafs into that.

Lastly it was comical how mad you guys made the Habs fans that year
That is why the B's won the cup. ...to upset the Habs fans

Welcome

Over the years I have sat near many Leaf fans at the Garden. All have been very cool.

A better poll choice would've been choosing who to cheer for in a SCF: Habs or Nucks. I'd rather get my teeth pulled with no anisethic than choose a winner for that, much less watch it unfold.
That would be a good poll.

This is hard to say but at this point in time I like fewer guys on the Nucks .

This is a trick question, right?

Seriously, I don't have that much of a hate on for the Leafs beside them being a divisional rival.

Always liked Doug Gilmour.

And you have to give props to their fans for being so..."optimistic"...year-in and year-out.

The only time the Leafs are on my radar is when they play the Bruins.

I hope the Canadiens lose every game they play.

It couldn't have gone any worse for them that year (first round exit to Boston).

This Toronto team is the 2007-2008 Boston Bruins. THey remind me so much of that team it is scary. Boston eventually lost in game 7 against Montreal, but that game 6 in Bsoton when Sturm scored marked the return of the Bruins to the playoffs and contending for the Cup.

This year is the Leafs year to return to the playoffs and have that one big win in the first round that starts the march forward. I wonder who their 'Sturm' is going to be?
Oh I don't know, 4 game losing streak, I think leaf fans are getting the 'here we go again' sentiment. Hopefully Carlyle solves the bad losing streak in a manner Ron Wilson never could.

The Lightning might be the most french canadian in the NHL (including the habs) so no surprise they'd identify with them.

What truly appauled me about the habs fans was the rematch of the Bruins and Canucks the next year; Max Lapierre and Dale Weise both pulling the 'glove shake fake' attempting to start fights and then run away. Practically all of the HF boards were calling it a gutless rat move including folks who likely hate the bruins (Lightning, Flyers, Sabre fans) yet Habs fans seemed to think it was great. That truly affirmed that my hatred for the Habs maybe isn't blind if they are willing to support the destruction of the game.

Thank you bruins for saving hockey in 2011.

Habs fan, coming in peace.
As a habs fan, if it was Toronto vs Boston I would go for Toronto as well. Now I wonder what the leafs fans would say... hmmm , I honestly think it would be 50/50. Serious.

Honest Question though.
Why do you hate us so much?
After all, the Bruins have injured more habs players in the last decade than the habs have injured Bruins players.

By the way, voted for the Leafs. I remember the last time we played Toronto. Great series, very passionate.
