Accepting rumors may have substance in Raffi's case(and I won't go further or be specific) the same org had some familiarity with the same off ice issues even in its glory years and among the elite players on this club. Just saying.
I do think Raffi has had a more serious approach and dedication and perhaps has made some changes. He is making a good contribution on the ice.
I would suppose its possible he has earned whatever reputation he had and subsequent reputation of sorts but man things have changed a lot since the 80's.
Well, you can look at reputation, or you can look at the fact that the Oilers traded him to CBus, then CBus traded him to Buffalo, and then he sat as a UFA until Vancouver signed him to a lowball offer at the end of the summer. It speaks volumes if the 3 teams that employed him in the previous 3 years had no interest in signing this former high-first-round draft pick for peanuts. That seems to be more than just due to a bad rep.
