I've always wondered why Stamkos is a below average faceoff guy. I guess I've never even really understood why some guys are so much better at them than others, for that matter. It's made a guy like Gaustad a lot of money over his career.
I get you, but the Lightning have been winning faceoffs the past few games.
This. Hall lost quite a few recently and has seemingly been replaced by Nate as the third/fourth line C. Stamkos' FO% has risen from 45% to almost 50% this year, while Vinny went from 48% last year to 55% FO success this year. Winning draws is becoming less of an issue, and I guess the coaching staff like what they see from Labrie and Crombeen in toughness and Palat in defensive contributions over what Hall brings to the table.
The timing is a little odd though with Vinny and Pyatt injured. I wasn't too impressed with Johnson last night, aside from his saucer pass to Hedman, but I guess he'll need more playing time to properly prove himself.
Two questions- First is how could we not at least get some later round pick for a veteran like Hall?
Second is if he clears what's he gonna do in Syracuse? He's been in the league way to long to want to play in the AHL now, so I don't see him trying too hard.
I think this move is more cause Pouliot must be getting close to a return and they don't want to send Palat down.
They also might hope he clears to free up a roster spot to sign a college FA, DeKeyser?

I would think that Yzerman tried to trade Adam Hall, but was unable to get anything. What do you people think, will Hall get claimed?
I don't think he gets claimed. I can't help but think there is a real plan behind all the strange decisions being made this year. Something about this PROCESS thing that I can't grasp, but somehow I'm very intrigued by it all.

There haven't been many waiver claims lately so I think he clears. He probably is the most proven and experienced of any player waived so maybe a cup contender would want him.
Don't quite agree with this move because he's far from being the problem but there's not much left to play for this season anyway. Might as well give some young guys playing time.
Funny I was just thinking today about how much I enjoyed this guy, and how much of a shame it was that he wasnt getting any play time. No one works harder than Hall does, but unfortunely I think that may have been the last we see him in a Lightning uniform. If no one claims him, the league is full of idiots. For the money, he could be a big help to a team with a weak 3rd/4th line.

Out of all the recent players put on waivers, he's the most likely to be claimed off waivers.
