It is an absolute chicken **** way to play hockey. Oilers played an incredible first 40 minutes. But they deserved to lose the way that the team came out in the 3rd period. Krueger is such a poor coach.
I was thinking that. We got dominated for the better part of the last 2 period that game. If we didn't light emery like the 4th of july we would of lost that game.

Oh well, a loser point is def a step up for this team. I suppose you can look at like 5/6 points in the last 3 games.

Good thing Yakupov and Harti got benched in the 3rd for Smyth so we could sit on that lead.

Works every single time for Krueger.

Will we ever get a coach who plays to win instead of not to loose?

Wasn't buying the 'bad coaching' narrative much before tonight but when your team is playing so well and THEN you change things up entirely ... I am NOT impressed. Made me fill ill to watch that happen.

the refs still get the 1st and 2nd stars for this game though, that 3rd period was so predictable, like others have said, its pretty obvious that the nhl has an agenda when the wings are down in the 3rd to give them every opportunity to tie it up, that was BUH-ROO-TULL. Brutal garbage reffing and one of the main reasons i havent watched a game in almost 2 months, the refs are making the game unwatchable.

Also please waive Smyth. I can't stand to watch plays die on his stick every game and then just be slow and weak on the puck.

Is there seriously a worse NHL player right now than him?

Anyone know if Coach K has called even 1 timeout this year? Kind of seemed like a good time in the third, no? When we were lifeless and getting shelled?

No?

Okay.

Also, Petry has the hockey iq of a banana

Absolute garbage.
This times a billion. Can't stand the refs ruining the game of hockey. Oilers also pissed this one away in the third, Kruger don't mess with a good thing!

Well, that was a waste. We should have won this game comfortably. What a deflating way to start the homestand.

I hate Detroit. I hate the blatant favouritism they get from the officials. I hate they're trapping style. Trapping in OT? Hate their guts. Pays off when you have a game breaker like Datsyuk who can win the game for you like that. Wish Hall could snipe like that, but he can't lift the puck worth a ****.

As for the Oilers. What is it now? 2-24 at home after a roadtrip, or something like that I heard? Not sure the time span of that, maybe someone can fill me in. Pathetic.

First game I've watched from start to finish in 15 games or so.

Hall is great. We need a game changer and he is almost there. Second to Datsyuk he was the best player on the ice tonight.

Petry goal was a bad break. **** happens, back luck.

Dubynk was good. Better than I remember.

I dunno where the rest of the team is though. Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins, Yak, Gags, J Schultz and Hemsky just didn't seem to show up. I know Gagner got a goal, on a nice play from Yak but other than one play I was disappointed in them.

Pathetic pedestrian play on that last goal by every oiler on the ice. No one willing to actually check the player with the puck. Just skate by them or waive your stick near them. That'll work. FFS

What a laser shot right underneath the bar?? Pretty sure that's the spot to shoot on every goalie.

That was Hall's best game as an Oiler. Absolutely dominant by him.

That was an off game for Datsyuk , and he was actually still such a beast.

Can't blame Petry on the winner, that move has worked on the best defensemen of the league (Weber, Suter, Doughty) in the past.

Once Datsyuk has that much speed, there's no stopping him.

The forwards screwed up on the goal. No one took Datsyuk charging with speed in neutral zone and Franzen had all the time in the world to make the pass.
