Dont get the logic. Anton is on the bench at like 4 million a year.

Not even close. He makes $2.5 million and is in the final year.

Babchuk + 5th for Boyle is a fair offer if he's the type of defenceman (PP specialist) the Rangers are looking for.

Fair to the flames? Sure
To the Rangers? it's a lube job.

The Anton is worth a 7th rd pick, and I am being generous, some flames fans are asking for a bag of pucks for him!
I'm asking for a signed and framed picture of Torts for him... Not quite as low as a bag of pucks but close.

Because trading a player with two points the season is a "lube job". What exactly do Rangers fans think Boyle is worth at this stage? He has one more year on his contract and is playing life garbage. I honestly don't see the Flames adding any picks. The cap space alone going into next year is valuable.

You need to read the whole thread to find out.

So why is has he been getting benched? If he is so wonderful at being such a defensive stallwart, why isnt he being used to do so? Is it because the Rangers have no leads to hold right now?

Or maybe because he is a team worst -7 right now in only 22 games. And this defensive specialist has been at best a +2 over an 82 game season, in which the Rangers had a +39 and a +35 'goals for' differential.

He is a nice 3/4th line player who throws his weight around, that's about it.

Not interested in Boyle. We don't need any more bottom 6 players.

We get he's a rental, end of year, so no issue about ongoing contract cap problem.

Do you get that our ONLY interest in this guy, MAYBE, is to do something for their power play.

Since this is not a long term investment in Shea Webber beyond this year, a minimal pick or favorable exchange on contract with a journeyman (saving you $$) is as good as it gets.
