Ned with a beautiful unassisted goal. Took the puck on his blue line and put a moves on two guys and scored with a wrister top shelf. Has looked solid all game. #1 PP and a ton of ice time. Very impressed with his skating from earlier in the year.

Also looks tough in the corners.

I guess, but he plays under the import qouta and it's not for certain his team holds a spot open like that.

i watched a st cloud game, i think vs minnesota, earlier this year. dowd and leblanc stood out most to me. they were very good. jensen was fine, but was not really noteworthy.

same for ben marshall of minnesota

I'm hearing that Stars d-man Mike McKee has been suspended for at least 4 games by the USHL. Not sure why.

McKee will miss the next four games which are against: Waterloo, Green Bay, Sioux Falls, Omaha. Huge matchups against very good teams.

Tvrdon won't have played competitive hockey for almost a year so it's quite possible he starts off in the ECHL. Same here, could he be returned to the CHL as an overager? This one would make a little sense as opposed to Frk considering he just lost a year.

Marchenko, sounds like the decision will be up to him and he's positive to join the Griffins. I hope he does.

Backman will play another year in Sweden.
I don't think Pulkkinen is ready for top line minutes immediately. He hasn't been with big minutes in Finland. ~14 minutes the last 2 seasons. I think he will need one season at 2nd line role, build some conditioning and then promoted to 1st line if everything goes well.

Any top six role would be fine. But he should no doubt have a bigger role than Frk, Tvrdon and Quine who haven't played pro hockey before. And he's a better prospect than Nestrasil/Glendening/Callahan. Griffins could also potentially lose Nyquist, Tatar, Andersson and Pare in one offseason.

I'd like to see something like this:

Jurco - Järnkrok - Ferraro
Pulkkinen - Sheahan - Frk

Järnkrok 0+0, -1(empty net), 4 PIM and 21:04 icetime in a 4-1 loss. He actually scored on a rebound but the goalie had just knocked the net loose before it went in so no goal. They are now down 3-0 in the series, game 4 on Monday.

Also noticed they weren't using him much on faceoffs, especially in the defensive zone. He was 33% on the ones he took.

I really wonder what will happen with Jarnkrok. I'm willing to bet he gets at least a couple games in Detroit similar to when Sheahan came up from college

Anyone know why Andersson gets to play with Detroit instead of Sheahan? Is he really better? Or is it just that Andersson is more experienced? (had played more Pro-games)

I think that's the reason, he's ELC ends this summer.

I think it's just that hierarchy. Sheahan is only 1st year pro and Andersson was at his last pro year down. Andersson loses his waiver-freedom after this season, so they are fitting him already in that he's more ready at next year as a full-time NHLr.

Nedomlel 0+1, -1, 2 PIM
Sproul 0+1, +/- 0
Athanasiou 1+0, +/- 0
Paterson 30/33 saves & 1st star in a 3-2 OT loss
Hudon 0+0, -2

Jensen 0+1, +1, 2 shots
De Haas 0+0
Toledo: Coetzee 1+1 & 2nd star, Parkes 1+1

----

Sproul and Frk finish up tonight and McKee still has some games left but the rest of the junior players have now finished their regular seasons. Final stats:

WHL:
- Nedomlel, 72 games 7+21 = 28, -13, 105 PIM
OHL:
- Quine, 54 games 23+44 = 67, +15, 20 PIM
* at Peterborough: 26 games, 9+17 = 26, -14, 14 PIM
* at Belleville: 28 games, 14+27 = 41, +29, 6 PIM

- Athanasiou, 66 games, 29+38 = 67, +13, 30 PIM
- Paterson, 50 games, 3.53 GAA, 90.1%, 1 SO
QMJHL:
- Ouellet, 50 games, 10+31 = 41, +14, 44 PIM
- Hudon, 65 games, 15+20 = 35, -1, 63 PIM
BCHL:
- De Haas, 53 games, 5+19 = 24, 19 PIM

So Ouellet goes from 0.95ppg to 0.82ppg... and all this because another player on the blueline got more powerplay time?

Part of the reason, but his team backed into the playoffs IIRC. I think they were only around .500 from the WJC and onward. But that's still no excuse for his lack of offense, so much so that he wasn't a nominee for the best defenceman award in the Q. I think we should temper our expectations for Ouellet now, he's more likely never going to run a
PP but we don't need him too. If he ends up in Vlasic mold with better skating like I've heard than I'm okay with that.

Sproul has really leap froged Ouellet in the prospect ranking imo, I had Ouellet 3rd but that spot now belongs to Sproul. I still think that they both have #2 potential, just that Sproul has that outside chance to be a #1 if he can develop even an average defensive game.

Their team also lost Matteau, he was important for BLB.

Ouellet has made it a point to work on his overall game this season. It's what the Wings harped on him about and he's taken his opportunity to do so. We seen what that looked liked at the World Juniors. He's become a much, much better defensive player. Something Sproul still needs to work on if he wants a quicker path to the NHL. Sproul has the better upside but Ouellet is the better player right now. People need to beware of Major Junior Hockey Stats as gospel.

If the same draft was held again, both players are top 15 picks. Sproul maybe higher due to his tremendous upside. One heck of a second round though.

Well done, and don't forget this is the guy who wanted to start TY CONKLIN over Jimmy Howard.
