Adding the numbers together seems popular, but both 8 (1+7) and 9 (2+7) are retired, so I'm going to go with him flipping them and going for either 71 or 72. Or maybe he'll just replace the number with a big picture of a yeti? "Boston player number yeti, 5 min + game misconduct for entering the Montréal crease, prepare to be Shannabanned"

I think he had #9 at one point when he played on the national team last season.

Has Carl ever mentioned what Swedish player he admired growing up?

Ok i get all the hope about this guy and folks waiting for him.But the team he is on is tied in a 7 game series and that might go deep or they might go deep and still win it setting up another 7 game series. Then if he does get here and suit up for Bruins after which will be a long wait no doubt we still all need see him play first before we think is gonna be a saviour.I hope Chiarelli not putting all his eggs in this basket. And please do not take this as a bashing the kid post.I am just cautious is all about getting to happy to early. Not getting my hopes up.Never seen him play.Just highlites.

I thought it might have been something like that. Another retired number...

http://www.sydsvenskan.se/sport/carl...t-hockeyderby/

First result googling "Carl Söderberg förebilder" - Sundin, Forsberg, Zlatan.
Ference already wears 21, or I wouldn't mind Carl using it since it's the number I have on my Bruins jersey. 13 is vacant, but I don't think he'll necessarily pick numbers based on his idols. Or maybe Zlatan's #10 (18, again, is occupied)...

If he opts for it, I hope he lacerates Matt Cooke's Achilles tendon in April.
(Just kidding, of course... or am I?)

So much for Linkoping mailing it in without Carl

As much as I can't wait to see Soderberg, I would not mind seeing him and his team overcome the suspension and make a nice run in the SEL playoffs.

Good karma.

Considering that this is Carl's first actual playoff (not counting the playoffs for promotion to SEL with Malmö), it could be a positive thing to have him play more games than a 6-0 loss in which he lost his temper.

I hope that no one ever wears #10 again. It has had some horrible luck with in the recent past.

Hodge, my boy Kvartalnov and Bochenski all wore number ten and had early success only to be marginalized in their second year. Kvartalnov did score 12 in 39 in his second, but his NHL career all but died in his secod year wearing #10.

It's awesome to see how Chiarelli has turned the Bruins into one of the top organizations in the league. When the Bruins are playing well they determine how games will be played.

The Bruins have the puck more often than their opponents which prevents the other teams from getting momentum. Basically, when the Bruins are sharp, the other teams have to play physical and chase the game....which is what the Bruins used to have to do for so long. Now the Bruins are more talented than other teams and they have a style of play that suits the players on the roster.

Based on what is said about Soderberg, he should fit in nicely with this team. He likes to have the puck on his stick and to control the game. Plus he has great size and should be hard to knock off the puck. Adding another skilled big forward should make it even tougher to beat the Bruins.

Don't worry, refs are giving the game to the flu strain.

Edit: And just then Figren scores again.
