Wasn't terrible for the Bruins... Only a 4th liner, but Chia loves centers.

I'd do it just because Kelly is injured, and to get someone without giving up assets might be worth the putting the claim in.

Is he better than Pandolfo?

Cool. We need a guy now that malhotra is gone.

He has to accept that conditioning assignment.

Did they ask him?

Adam Hall has had a bizarre little career.

Second round pick of Nashville, becomes a full time NHLer in his first full season of pro hockey at 22, puts up 28 points, next season he puts up 27, then the year after the lock-out he puts up 29 then NEVER touches 20 points again after being traded. He goes to the Rangers and gets just 12 points and is traded midseason and adds 5 points to his total. Signs with Pittsburgh, puts up just 6 points and ends up with Tampa. In Tampa he has a middling season, and the next year ends up in the AHL for the entire season. He then works hard and gets back to the NHL and had two solid seasons in Tampa, before being a frequent healthy scratch this season and ending up on waivers. He could get picked up, but it might just be the end of the line for him now.

Gillis should pick him up, at least he is center, Canucks have 5 centers in the organisation (2 of them being Ebbet & Schroeder) and Kesler is injured.

I'll always remember him for his two big goals in the '08 final.

Pens were 2-0 when he scored a goal in the finals that year and 0-4 when he didn't.

injury problems. started with the concussion he received from this "celebrated" Phaneuf hit during the WJCs:

Then he's had to have hand and knee surgery since turning Pro. Even after he came back from the hand surgery, he was still was out with hand injuries a few times. And now he's coming off of knee surgery.

he looked like he would become a very good, well-rounded player as a youngster, but he needs to try and find his game in the AHL.

A bit late to the party, I know, but what can you do?

It's a 2-way street.

They can't send him down for conditioning unless he ahrees to it.

Once a player clears waivers, he can be sent down later in the same season without going back on waivers, I believe.

It might be that Ottawa wanted to be sure to keep him if he had to be sent down once injured players come back.

only within 30 days or 10 nhl games played. Kassian's 30 days will be up tomorrow, so if ottawa wants to send him down he'll have to clear waivers again.

Why?

Next year, if in the minors, he would only count for $200K against the cap.

Thanks for the clarification.

You'll note I edged my bets with "I believe".

Yes, but if you buy him out, you have to pay him less. And you'd also save that 200K on the cap haha

The day a franchise buys out a player like this to save $400K in real money and $200K on the cap is the day that franchise should fold or be moved.

Free's up a contract to sign a college FA. Also didn't expect him to play real hard in the A after being in the show for so long.

I thought they already had three spots open (including two slide rules)?

They do but it gives more flexibility to make a trade for prospects and pick up a couple of college FA's.

I don't know, I feel sorry for Boychuk. I wish he could finally stick somewhere.
