"New Viking Cassel Might be Overqualified as a Backup":

http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_...assel-might-be

The comments from Chiefs' people ^ indicates they weren't too big on Cassel. lol

Greg Jennings remains at #Vikings headquarters. No deal done yet.
Not sure about everybody else, but to me it sounds like the Vikings could be favorites?

Sounds to me like the Vikings are really his only suitors because of lack of interest...

Yeah, they ought to just sign the damn deal. I'm guessing three years at $7m per.

Length of deals in the NFL are pretty much not a factor, its all about the guaranteed money.

$9.5M avg. RT @JosinaAnderson: A source tells me that Greg Jennings got a 5-year deal with a max value of $47.5 million, $18 million gtd.
The average is pretty high but the GTD money isn't too bad. But that's how much you have to give to get him to go from Rogers to Ponder.

Every NFL contract is a three-year projection. Sounds like $9 million average in first three years. Decent scratch however it's broken down.

Rick Spielman says "it's been a very exciting week for the Minnesota Vikings."

Bunch of quotes from Jennings. Here is a link to Tom Pelissero's twitter, which has a few more quotes.

Quote:
Jennings: "It was a family feel. It felt comfortable."
Quote:
Jnnings says he wanted to go to a contender with a window that's opening, not closing. Excited to join what they're building here. #Vikings
Quote:
Jennings said decision "pretty much" came down to #Packers or #Vikings and the Vikings "stepped up to the plate." Read: $$$$$$$$$$$$
Quote:
Jennings: "I was looking for change. Green Bay, I gave them seven good years." But as a competitor, felt he'd get more opportunities here.
Quote:
Jennings says he wants to be versatile, play multiple receiver spots. "I expect to be creative in getting the ball."
Quote:
Jennings watched film on #Vikings offense -- but mainly Ponder. "I had to watch Christian. I had to see what I was getting myself into."

Greg, you have no idea...

Still kinda sad that Vikings didn't get Alex Smith, would've been a good fit for them. Price was a bit high though...

I love this signing.

In Ponder's defense (did I just say that?) he hasn't had a core of receivers to get the ball to. While we don't have a core just yet, Jennings is a huge start. We get one more and we'll be in business, along with a good TE and of course the best running back in the game.

We need another receiver to be "in business" offensively. Our secondary minus harrison smith still sucks balls. I really don't think cutting winfield was necessary...maybe he'll come back

It was necessary to fit Loadholt, Cassel, and Jennings under the cap. We're going to have to move some money around at this point to get all of our draft picks signed.

I wish we would try for Nnamdi Asomugha and maybe Urlacher now - how much cap space is left?

Not much. Still need space for the rookie contracts too.
