Big Game Story: Both the KINGS and SHARKS, along with Minnesota, have 30 points in 26 games and are in a group of eight teams that are within four points
in the Western Conference playoff scramble. A win will vault one of these teams as high as fourth; a regulation loss could put the loser on the outside of the playoff picture.
The KINGS need to remind the Sharks WHY they won the Stanley Cup Championship. GO KINGS GO !!!

Scoreboards : NHL : CBS : Yahoo : TSN.ca : ESPN

SHARKS go for home-and-home sweep of Stanley Cup Champion, L.A. Kings.

It's not an easy thing to do. At the end of the day, our goals against has got to come down. You look at why we were successful last year - we weren't scoring a lot of goals, but we were winning games 1-0 and 2-1. We've got to really tighten up our D-zone."

You know the puck’s in the guy’s skates. You know he’s vulnerable, and he takes advantage of him. I don’t like seeing a teammate get hit like that. So I went in."

If it was the other way around, I would have been trying to hit him just as hard. But yeah, I liked that Muzzin stuck up for Me, I think it’s good. It shows good signs of a team, being a close team. I’d do the same for him, and the same thing if it’s the other way around…I played with Burish. I know he’d have been doing the same thing for his guy. It’s one of those things, I mean it’s a big hit. He got me. I don’t know. I’ve got no excuses. He hit me pretty good. I feel good now, I’m OK. Obviously, it didn’t feel good at the time by any means, but I stayed in the game and we get a rebound on Saturday and get to play the same team. So that’s the fun of it."

It’s faster, so a couple of days skating with them – skating every day and working out – has really helped, and I feel pretty good right now."

You guys have asked that a thousand times…not a thousand times, but every time they score a couple goals, you ask the same question. Putting guys in penalty killing situations they’re not used to, the goalie has to be a hell of a lot better penalty killer for you, and you’ve got to shoot pucks down the ice. The two goals they’ve scored – bad goal, Voynov. Shoot the puck down the ice, 200 feet. Shoot it at their defensemen – you just made a pass. You just got the second assist. They used to give three assists because defensemen would just rim it around, right? The defense would just rim it around the boards to their defense. They’d go around, D, D, shot. I got the third assist. That’s why they went back to two assists. [They] didn’t want to give it to the other team’s defenseman. The first option is not a rim. When I came here, that was the first option – rim the puck. We’re trying not to get them to rim pucks. It’s a bad option in today’s game."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

I don't. It's the Sharks...death, taxes, lose to Sharks in new and interesting ways. That being said, they'd better come out good and pissed off tonight.

Loss is not a big deal, they just need to take at least three points of the four against PHX coming up.

Ha I was talking to my friend last night and said I wouldn't be surprised to see Toffoli in for Nolan tonight. Nolan was brutal on Thursday, and Sutter even benched him for awhile.

EDIT: Sounds like he's on a line with Richards and Carter. Not a bad line to debut on. So Penner drops to the third line and King to the fourth?

From the Insider:

Quote:
Toffoli, who turns 21 on April 24, ranked second in the American Hockey League with 28 goals at the time of his call-up. He’ll skate as a right wing opposite Mike Richards with Jeff Carter at center to start and could also factor into the Kings’ penalty killing efforts.
Looking forwad to seeing TT play and hoping that he holds his own in the DZ, the Kings, all of them, need to be better in the DZ. I can't help but think of what the Kings record would be now if Mitchell and Greene were healthy.

Hoping Greene is rehabing on time and back b4 the playoffs start to get his legs under him again. And DL gets that Vet D much needed to replace Willie.

GKG
Looking for a solid 1st period tonight andf a 2-0 lead, then don't take the foot off the gas, push for 60 , we need the points.

At least we get a look at Toffoli.

If the Kings continue to play like they did in the first and the third last game, and watch their penalty minutes, we should be good to go for a win. Get it done! GO KINGS!

So Richie is on LW, Carter at C and Toffoli on RW? I hope they don't get too confused!

Looks like I'm going to miss this one and a whole bunch this week, hope for a big WIN!
