G:

-Turris. I hope we at least made an effort to get this guy.
-Stafford with two goals.
-Weber.

B:

-VHP. I'm going to soon start calling them VHP-GA for how many goals against are scored when they're out there.
-Leopold knocking the puck into his own net.

U:

-The 2nd period. May have been the worst period of a terrible season.

good- 3 goals
- got a point
- we aren't as bad as the Rangers

bad- giving up a 2-0 lead

ugly- getting a penalty in OT

guess I'm fairly optimistic about the team, they still have defensive lapses but they didn't give up. Only 4 points out of 8th

Actually, 6.

And the team in 8th also has a game-in-hand.

I hope a few of the bunched-up western teams overpay for Pominville and/or Miller. Jason might be the worst defensive player on that line this season with all the blown clears at the worst possible times.

The worst part of watching it is knowing that he could and should be the best defensive player on that line, but he's been terrible this year. Way too soft on his clears, or just not picking his head up and looking to make sure he has a lane.

At least Leino played well. His debut was the only reason I watched today.

G: Weber played one of his best games I can recall
Leino made me think about keeping him
Stafford showcased his abilities so that we can maximize return for his lazy ass
B: Vanek didn't get a point (my survivor pool)
2nd period
The mugging of Ennis while on the PP
We got a loser point.... Please win Florida
U: Nothing, I'm in draft mode.

I remember making a thread on Kyle Turris back in his early Phoenix days saying we should get this guy. Always liked the kid, glad he's doing well.

Good -

- Stafford with a 2-goal game has to be good for his confidence. A more confident Stafford helps his trade value.
- Regehr-Neil was a spirited tilt.
- Myers. I had no issue with the guy's play most of the game. Ehrhoff on the other hand...
- Leino wasn't half bad.

Bad -

- ... stunk. Lots of unforced errors and that penalty was deadly. I'm sure people will heap the blame on Myers for the goal, but Ehrhoff put them in that position and didn't play all that well tonight.
- Officiating. It's ok to go full-rodeo on Ennis in the corner but Ehrhoff puts a hand on Mika Z's shoulder and gets sent off... in OT? WTH.

Ugly -

- I'm with Ron on this -- they're terrible so any sort of rally is mildly entertaining as they lurch toward the draft.

Pommer has made mistakes, but there is no question defensively Hodgson is the worst on that line. If Pominville gets his head out of his ass that would go a loooong way to covering up for the defensive deficiency of that line.

If RR sits Hecht tomorrow it'll confirm to me he's in over his head. Hecht is one of their better 5-on-5 players, as sad as that is.

Ugliest- Ennis getting choke slammed going in corner no call, Pommer getting grabbed by 2 guys going for lose puck no call.

Ehrhoff barely touches Zibenigad and it's a penalty in OT what a JOKE

As I pointed out hodgson may be viewed as the worst on D for the top line. But he has been improving given before tonight's game he took his -5 +\- rating to an even 0. IMO coho deserves to be cut some slack given he is in his first season on the top line. Everyone seems to be oblivious to that fact. Truthfully there isn't really in my opinion a consistent defensive shut down forward on this team that hasn't made a mistake this season. And coho can't do it all on the top line defensively. I can't say with a straight face pommer and vanek have played any stretch of consistent defensive hockey this season. That being said I totally agree with your last statement both pommers and vanek need to step up their defensive games as well.

Then the Senators got away with at least 2 penalties in regulation...no consistency.

Then again, not like the Sabres would have done anything if they got PPs. But still...if you're going to call that, then you have to call it both ways.
