That doesn't really prove much.
All he says is that he wants to finish his career in Russia, he never says he wants to spend the last 5-6 years of his career there.
He could easily sign a 2 year extention with the Wings and then go back to Russia. He's only 34 now, if he signed a 2 year extension he'd be 37 at the end of it and could still play 2-3 years in Russia.
You shouldn't jump to conclusions, no one knows for sure except for Pav. We'll all have to wait and see
He may go back after this contract expires, but he hasn't said anything that we didn't already know. Him saying he wants to end his career in Russia could mean in another 3-4 years for all we know, either way I'm pretty sure he still has some thinking to do about it.
Russians believe if you say something is true enough times people will believe it. So they keep saying the KHL is great, Russia is a great place to play, they tell their nationals to say the same thing. It must be true! They learned from the Republican party . I will judge by actions. Welcome back to the NHL dats and Kovy! Datsyuk is done in the NHL when he signs a KHL contract until then I'm skeptical.
one of these years Datsyuk will feel like he can either become a 2nd line type of guy offensively who also happens to still be pretty good defensively or go to the KHL and be one of the best players there
that's when he probably goes to Russia
it'll still suck to lose him but he won't be a star level player anymore anymore, just a useful secondary type of guy
as for when that happens? who knows, could be in a couple years, might not be till he's 40
