Sitting on the patio with a Goose Island IPA and a bottle of Drambuie.

Another awesome night. Grilled some pork chops and vegetables earlier tonight.

Weekly weigh-in report... lost 1.7 lbs this week, making me at 177.8 lbs currently and having lost 44.2 lbs this year.

Very happy to have lost some weight after losing essentially nothing last week, but guess my weight loss is starting to plateau.

Take 2-4 weeks where you maintain no deficit or gain calorie wise. Try to push out about 1000 calories burned a day, plus your basal, and eat up to that. Then when you switch back to dieting, bring that intake down about 5 to 6 hundred calories.

Should jumpstart you again.

I'll consider it. Leaning more towards re-upping my exercise regimen, though.

The chips I used were broken used Jack Daniels oak barrels. I normally don't care for JD, too sweet for my tastes, but wanted to try something new. When you opened the bag of chips, it smelt like someone just threw a glass of straight bourbon in your face. Turned out really well, but I might try soaking my own oak chips in some Makers for a few days, drying, and then using those. Curious to see how much of a difference there would be.

The BBQ sauce was the biggest hit, though. The base was a combo of blood orange and ginger liquor. Was incredible. Probably would do without the blood orange part next time, and use more ginger, but I love ginger. It was one of those meals where side dishes weren't wanted, and it was a race to the last rib.

I like dry rub. I hate BBQ sauce. It's way too sweet for normal food. I get that I'm in the minority, but I probably would not have liked normally amazing ribs that Ray made.

I do both. First two hours are smoked on the grill in the dry rub, last hour or two is when I start to baste it with the BBQ sauce, that way the first two hours it can really absorb the smoke. I hate sweet BBQ sauces that are dark and sweet from the mollasses and brown sugar. I like a tangy and spicy BBQ sauce, and try to sweeten it with only honey and liquor, or sometimes with preservatives from peaches, apricots, etc. But yeah, a BBQ sauce like Sweet Baby Ray's is absolutely disgusting.

I like both, dry and sauce. My mom makes a great sauce homemade. The only time I'll buy BBQ sauce is if I am making my pulled pork nachos. In that case, Bulls Eye works surprising well, although I should just learn my mom's recipe or make my own. But if you water it down a little bit in a sauce pan, it actually works well.

BBQ sauces are really easy to make, and I love tinkering with them to get exactly the flavor I want that particular day. You can't put a price on just how much better it is compared to anything from a grocery store.

Bah, picked a bad day to forget my laptop and bag. Only can use my phone to browse the web and no charger in the office for it. Hopefully 87% can tide me over for the rest of the day.

Ribs are my favorite thing to make because you can have a simple dry rub mixed with a very complex barbecue sauce to make something that makes you see stars.

I almost wrote "What in the blue hell is a Radko Whatshisface?!" on the main boards but decided to opt out of the infraction.
