just wanted to give my dirtbag of the game award to steve boom boom bernier for his cheap elbow on plekanecs and then running over markov in the crease after a whistle and throwing up his arms like it was a mistake. idiot
Continuing with the trend of a different person stepping up for each win, today was Carey Price's turn.
Devils had some really good gap control on the habs today, so it was almost impossible to get the speed game going. But the habs also did a good enough job in their end, and Price was there to cover up some mistakes.
Tonight was no masterpiece, but good teams find a way to win even when they are not at their best. Last season, this would have been a loss.
My point is that you can go down the list of every Canadiens player tonight and find something that each one did wrong or poorly.
It just seems petty to do so when we win though. Just my opinion.
Well, I think it's fair to point out who had a good or bad overall game. Subban made some ugly errors, and also was flat our dominant at times. Desharnais was below average for 2/3rds of the game, but picked it up at the end and had a great FO game. Eller had something of the opposite.
Emelin and Markov had below average games. Pacioretty and Gallagher did too. It happens. I wrote one sentence about it, if I was actually concerned or angry with them I'd have expanded my point.

Markov's slowness was a problem at times. Emelin was the better of the two. Neither was particularly stand out bad, but the Devils dominated play to a significant level when they were on. On the other hand Subban made more noticable errors, but they were noticable because Subban had the puck so much.
